About Studio Craft & The Process
When we are on set, I use tethered shooting to stream images directly to a monitor in real-time. This is not just for efficiency; it allows us to verify focus, fabric texture, and lighting patterns instantly. We check every detail before moving to the next frame, ensuring the output is technically flawless and matches the moodboard exactly.
Great fashion photography is rarely accidental. My studio process is built on a foundation of rigorous technical preparation and a constant hunger for visual storytelling. As a Broncolor ambassador, I rely on their lighting kits not just for power, but for the precision needed to sculpt shadows and highlight the intricate details of a garment.
The Gear That Shapes the Story
I am intentional about my lens choices. While many defaults to wide zooms, I prefer prime Sigma lenses for their sharpness and ability to render natural body proportions. Whether I am using a 30mm or 35mm lens, the goal is to capture editorial depth while maintaining the integrity of the subject. A sharp lens combined with high-end strobe lighting allows for clean post-production and color correction, whether we are shooting a lookbook for a emerging designer or a campaign for a major label.
More Than Just a Click
My process begins long before the camera comes out. It starts with concept building, where we break down the narrative arc of your collection. We plan the mood, the styling, and the lighting setups—like using colored gels or specific shadow-casting techniques—to evoke a particular emotion.
When you book a studio session, you are not just paying for a photographer. You are getting a creative director who manages the production, from the initial moodboard to the final high-resolution edit. We work as a team, with lighting assistants and digital technicians, to create an atmosphere where your collection can come alive.
