About Beauty & Expressive Portraits
I approach every portrait like a film still. By combining precise studio lighting with intentional creative direction, I shift the focus from merely documenting a face to capturing an evocative mood that reveals something real about you.
Photography, for me, is never just about pressing a shutter. In these beauty and expressive portraits, I am looking for the texture, the shape, and the unspoken narrative. Whether I am shooting for a high-end magazine cover or a personal project like the 'Patricia' series, the process remains the same.
My Technical Approach
I am picky about the tools because they define the final emotion. I work primarily with Sigma prime lenses to ensure absolute sharpness, allowing the focus to remain on the eyes or the detail of the skin. As a Broncolor ambassador, I shape light to create depth. I don't just light a subject; I sculpt the environment using shadows to add drama and mystery, a technique you will see throughout my portfolio.
The Collaborative Process
Great portraits happen through a team. I do not believe in working in a vacuum. For these shoots, I assemble a team of stylists, makeup artists, and hair experts who understand the vision. We build the look from the ground up—from the graphic eyeliner choices to the hair structure. If you are looking for a portrait that feels flat or standard, I am probably not the right fit. If you want an image that feels like a piece of art, that is where we connect.
