Custom Acrylic & Canvas Paintings
I use heavy-body acrylics to capture emotions on canvas. Whether it is a family portrait or a tribute to a loved one, these paintings bring stories to life with rich color and texture.
This acrylic portrait of my nephew Vishakh was a labor of love. After taking a break for an eye surgery, I came back to it and repainted the face to get it just right. The vibrant colors and smooth blending are achievable with acrylics on a stretched canvas.
A quick reveal of the finished acrylic baby portrait. This video zooms out to show the full painting on the easel, giving a sense of its scale and the fine details that went into creating this lifelike piece.
My award-winning acrylic portrait of the beloved Kannada actors, the late Dr. Rajkumar and his son, the late Puneeth Rajkumar. This painting was a tribute to their legacy and I was honored that it won first prize in a competition at the Lalbagh flower show.
Here I am, adding the final touches to the double portrait of Dr. Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. Working on a large canvas with acrylics allows for building up layers to create realistic skin tones and expressions.
This is my acrylic painting of Nada Prabhu Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru, created during a live art event. The monochrome figure against the vibrant yellow and red of the Karnataka flag creates a powerful contrast.
Posing with my finished painting of Kempegowda at the "Art in the Park" event. It was an honor to paint such an important historical figure and share the experience with fellow art lovers.
About Acrylic & Canvas Paintings
When you commission an acrylic piece, we are not just replicating a photo. I build depth through layers of professional-grade acrylic paint, finishing each piece with a protective UV-resistant varnish to keep the colors vibrant for years. Since these canvases are stretched over wooden frames, they are ready to hang the moment they reach you, making them a centerpiece for your living room.
My Approach to Canvas Art
Being an engineer, I treat the canvas like a project that requires precision. I work primarily with Camlin heavy-body acrylics because they hold texture well and allow for the color mixing needed to get skin tones and expressions just right. Unlike digital prints, these are physical, tactile objects.
What You Get
- Gallery Wrap Style: I paint the edges of the canvas, so you don't necessarily need a frame if you prefer a modern, clean look.
- Merging Memories: If you have separate photos you want combined into one composition, I can merge them to create a cohesive scene.
- Durability: Every painting is sealed with a gloss or matte varnish, protecting it from dust and fading over time.
The Commission Process
Since I work from reference photos, the quality of the image you share matters. We will chat first to finalize the composition, background, and the mood you want. Whether it is a tribute to a loved one, like my painting of Dr. Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar, or a personal family memory, I spend weeks layering the paint to ensure it does justice to your story. I ship safely across India, so distance from my studio in Bengaluru is never an issue.
