I help you filter through the noise of modern diet advice. Let's look at the science behind your food and get back to what your body actually needs.

Are humans designed to be plant-eaters? I explore this question by looking at our anatomy, from our teeth to our digestive system. Our bodies are perfectly suited for a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

"Will cashews increase my cholesterol?" This is a frequent question, and the answer is no. I explain that cholesterol only comes from animal products and that plant foods like nuts and seeds contain zero cholesterol.

"Where do you get your protein?" is the most common question for anyone eating plant-based. The truth is, there's no such thing as a protein deficiency if you're eating a variety of whole plant foods, as all plants contain all nine essential amino acids.

Many protein powders are under scrutiny for heavy metal contamination. I explain that our problems often come from protein excess, not deficiency, and list whole food sources like lentils, hemp seeds, and quinoa that provide all the protein you need.

Is a plant-based diet expensive? Not at all. The most expensive items on a grocery list are typically meat and dairy. A traditional Indian diet, rich in local vegetables, fruits, millets, and lentils, is naturally plant-based and very economical.

Is all home food healthy? Not necessarily. A typical Indian household meal can be high in saturated fats and refined carbs. I explain how to make your home food truly healthy by switching to whole grains and adding more nutrient-rich plants.

Let's talk about avocados. While imported Hass avocados have a dark side related to environmental and social issues, our local Indian butter fruit is a sustainable, seasonal, and kind choice for both your body and the planet.
