From the first sketch to the final polish, we turn your personal narratives into durable, solid teak furniture. See how our Bengaluru studio brings these ideas to life.

A look inside our workshop where our design team collaborates with our master woodworkers. Here, we are reviewing digital designs on a laptop, ensuring every detail is perfectly translated from the screen to the final wooden piece.

Behind the scenes at our workshop, one of our skilled artisans is at the lathe, hand-turning a solid piece of wood. This traditional technique allows us to create the intricate, curved legs and posts that are a signature of our designs.

The finishing stage is where the wood's natural beauty is brought to life. Our team meticulously sands and polishes each piece by hand, ensuring a smooth, durable, and lustrous finish that will last for generations.

About From Sketch to Finish: Our Process

You don't just order furniture from us, you start a conversation. Whether we are sketching a concept for a console or reviewing digital designs for a bed, we involve you at every stage so the final object feels like it truly belongs in your home.

Our Design Philosophy

We believe furniture should be a vessel for your memories. We call our aesthetic Modern Indian, but it is really about translating your story into solid teak, rattan, and brass. Whether you want to adapt one of our existing designs or start with a blank sheet of paper, we focus on the emotional resonance of the piece.

The Collaborative Process

  1. The Conversation: We begin by listening. You share your needs, your space constraints, and the memories or vibes you want to capture. We use this to sketch initial concepts, ensuring the function is as solid as the form.

  2. The Blueprint: We move from hand-drawn sketches to digital designs. This helps you visualize dimensions and ergonomics before we cut a single piece of wood. We often collaborate with your interior architects to ensure the unit fits seamlessly with your home's layout.

  3. The Making: Our team, led by master woodworkers like Subhash and Shueb, brings these designs to life. We prioritize traditional joinery techniques, such as mortise and tenon, for structural longevity. We avoid engineered wood in structural areas, sticking to 100% solid teak.

  4. The Details: This is where the magic happens. We integrate cultural motifs—like lathe-turned legs inspired by Kathakali dancers or intricate Mysore wood inlays—that give our pieces their unique character. The final hand-polishing with PU or natural oil finishes ensures the grain sings and the piece is protected for years to come.

If you want furniture that grows with your home rather than just filling a corner, we would love to build it with you.
