About Our Story & Milestones
It started with a simple idea: making sure people in Mumbai actually eat good food, even when they are swamped. We didn't want to be just another kitchen pushing out oily, mass-produced boxes. That is why we tracked every single dabba—hitting 13,100 meals wasn't just a number to us. It was proof that people really do crave honest, home-style food that doesn't feel like a compromise.
Our story isn't about rapid scaling or fancy industrial machinery. It’s about the chaos of a busy kitchen, the clatter of steel dabbas, and the quiet satisfaction of sending out a meal that actually tastes like home. When we started, the mission was clear: no plastic, no preservatives, and absolutely no boring, repetitive menus.
We spent months in the test kitchen before sending out our first order. We experimented with Dadi’s old tricks—using cashews instead of heavy cream and ensuring the dal tadka actually hits the spot every single time. Every meal you receive is cooked fresh the same morning, which is why we’ve built such a loyal community of subscribers who know the difference between restaurant food and ghar ka khana.
We operate on the 'hum saath saath hain' (we are all in this together) philosophy. That includes the Mumbai Dabbawalas who help us deliver your food and our kitchen team who swap aprons for kurtas during festive seasons. We keep our menu rotating constantly because nobody wants to eat the same dal every day. Whether it's the comforting warmth of a fresh Sabudana Khichdi or a protein-packed chicken curry, we focus on consistency. We know you’re busy, and we’re here to make sure the food on your plate is one thing you never have to worry about.
