The Art of Custom Tailoring: Our Process & Fabrics
Every suit we create starts long before the first stitch. From sourcing premium wools to the precision of our hand-cut patterns, here is how we turn fine fabric into your signature look.
The heart of our work lies in the hands of our master tailors. Here is a glimpse into our process, where we craft each garment with precision, passion, and a commitment to perfection that has defined our legacy.
From a roll of fabric to a masterpiece of fit. This is the making of our bespoke suits, where every detail is considered and every stitch is placed with purpose to bring your vision to life.
From sketch to stitch, we tailor elegance that stands the test of time. At our studio, craftsmanship meets passion, because we believe style is not just worn, it is lived.
A bespoke journey begins with the finest materials. This premium suiting fabric from John Cavendish (UK) features a deep plum check pattern in superfine wool, offering a smooth finish and elegant drape for a truly refined, tailored suit.
Every stitch begins with premium fabrics that define style and comfort. This suiting fabric from Giorgio Ferrantino, imported from Australia, features a refined check pattern with a matte sheen for lightweight structure.
Soft to touch and rich in feel. This premium shirting fabric from Italy is made with fine Giza cotton in a subtle herringbone weave, offering softness, durability, and a refined look.
The foundation of a great summer wardrobe. This image showcases our light blue and beige custom trousers, crafted for those who believe in relaxation and self-care.
About this collection
We start with your vision, not a catalog. Whether you prefer the sharp structure of an Italian suit or the relaxed feel of a tailored jacket, our process includes two physical fittings to ensure the garment moves with you. We do not just measure; we analyze your build to guarantee a fit that feels like a second skin.
Our tailoring process is built on the foundation laid in 1983. When you visit us at our Opera House, Grant Road, Matunga, or Ghatkopar studios, we begin by understanding your lifestyle. A suit for the boardroom requires a different internal construction than a wedding tuxedo or a summer shacket.
We source premium materials from reputed houses, including John Cavendish wools and fine Giza cottons, because the fabric determines how the garment ages. During the 'skeleton' and 'final' fitting stages, we adjust for posture, shoulder alignment, and the precise break of your trousers.
We specialize in multiple constructions:
- Classic Italian Cut: Sharp shoulders and a tapered waist, ideal for business and formal settings.
- Ceremonial Ensembles: 3-piece sets and tuxedos with satin-faced lapels for weddings.
- Refined Casual: Lightweight denim and linen jackets, stitched with the same precision as our formal wear.
We encourage you to bring reference styles or discuss your specific needs. Our goal is to provide a garment that fits your body and your personality.
Vicky Tailor
My brother Akash and I grew up in our family studio, listening to the snip of scissors and the chatter of long-time clients. We are still here, personally overseeing every cut and fitting at our Mumbai locations, because we believe a suit is more than clothing. It is a legacy we build together with you.
