Interactive Guest Storyteller Experiences for Kids
We bring global voices to our library, hosting international storytellers who use music, dance, and folklore to spark your child's imagination right here in Gurgaon.
An invitation from the wonderfully energetic storyteller Bongiswa Kotta Ramushwana herself! We were so excited to host her for a session of stories, music, and dance all the way from South Africa.
What a day! This video captures the incredible energy and fun of our session with Bongiswa. The library was filled with singing, dancing, and the captivating rhythm of African stories.
The love and personal connection Bongiswa shared with every child was truly special. Here are some heartwarming moments of her interacting with the children after the storytelling session.
About Guest Storyteller Experiences
These sessions are not passive performances where children just sit and watch. Our guest storyteller events are designed as high-energy, call-and-response experiences where your child learns traditional beats, dances, and actively participates in the narrative. We cap these events at 40 people to keep the space intimate, ensuring every child has a chance to interact with the artist and ask questions.
We believe stories act as a bridge to cultures that kids might only read about in books. When we invite international artists, the library transforms. The focus is on the oral tradition, using voice modulation, rhythmic drumming, and movement to convey history and emotion. It is a departure from screen-based entertainment, offering a sensory-rich environment that demands engagement.
What to expect
Each 60-minute session balances performance with interactive Q&A. Children are encouraged to dance, sing along, and step into the stories themselves. Beyond the entertainment value, these sessions build public speaking confidence, empathy for different cultures, and an appreciation for global folklore.
Scheduling and Capacity
Since we host these events at our Sector 50 library, seats fill up quickly. Most sessions are geared toward children aged 4 and above, though the magic often transcends age limits. Reach out to check the date of our next guest performance or to join our mailing list for upcoming special events.
