About Maharashtrian Wedding Stories
When I shoot a Maharashtrian ceremony, my priority is anticipating rituals like the Antarpat or Haldi without interrupting the flow. I stay in the background to capture those fleeting, unscripted glances between the couple and the genuine expressions of family members, rather than relying on staging or directing every pose.
Every Maharashtrian wedding carries its own rhythm. Whether it is the quiet, sacred intensity of the Antarpat ritual or the joyous, chaotic energy of the Haldi, I am always looking for the story behind the ceremony. My approach to photography is rooted in this documentary style. I do not just capture the event; I look for the small details that make your day yours: the intricate zari work on a Paithani saree, the way a grandmother wipes a tear during the Kanyadaan, or the shared laughter during the wedding lunch.
I work across Pune and Mumbai, often travelling to intimate venues or traditional family homes where the most authentic moments happen. My process involves a blend of candid shots for those emotional spikes and relaxed, cinematic portraits when we have a quiet window.
