About Timeless Black & White Moments
When I convert a photo to black and white, I do it to stop you from looking at the decor or the bright outfits and start looking at the people. It is about those fleeting, honest expressions that often get lost in the noise of a vibrant Indian wedding, like a nervous glance before the pheras or a shared laugh during a cocktail party. This style is not about removing color, but about highlighting the raw, human connection that makes your day yours.
In the middle of a big fat Indian wedding, everything is competing for your attention. The decor, the outfits, the lights, the rituals. That is why I love monochrome wedding photography. By removing the distraction of color, I can focus entirely on the subject, the texture, and the emotion.
My approach to black and white photography is purely documentary. I am looking for the grit and the tenderness in your celebration. Whether it is the intricate details of a bridal saree captured in shadow, or the quiet hug between a bride and her parent, monochrome turns these split-second reactions into permanent, artful memories.
I often find that couples who prefer this style are the ones who want their wedding album to feel like a real story rather than a catalog of poses. We can mix this style throughout your wedding coverage, or focus on it for dedicated portrait sessions where we use light and shadow to create something more dramatic and cinematic. It works especially well for intimate elopements or quiet, soulful ceremonies where the focus is strictly on the bond between you and your partner. If you want photos that look like they belong in a classic film, this is the direction we should take.
