Authentic Maharashtrian Wedding Photography
I love the grace of a Paithani saree and the sacred energy of Marathi rituals. Here is a look at how I capture the quiet, heartfelt moments that define a traditional Maharashtrian wedding.
A quiet moment of connection amidst the wedding day buzz. This portrait of a Maharashtrian couple shows the bride in her stunning orange and pink Nauvari saree and the groom in his traditional white sherwani and pink pheta.
An embrace that says everything. I focus on capturing the genuine bond between my couples, like in this portrait where their traditional Marathi wedding attire adds to the richness of the moment.
A classic romantic pose with a traditional touch. The groom gets down on one knee, not for a proposal, but in a gesture of love on their wedding day, showcasing their beautiful connection.
A laugh that lights up the frame. This candid photo captures a moment of pure joy, highlighting the bride's intricate jewelry and the couple's easy chemistry.
A walk to remember. This full-length shot captures a Maharashtrian couple in their wedding attire, holding hands as they walk through a garden path, creating a serene and timeless wedding portrait.
A collage showcasing the elegance of a Marathi bride. Her beautiful orange Paithani saree and traditional jewelry are highlighted in these portraits, capturing her grace and smile.
A series of portraits celebrating the bride, Snehal. These shots capture her radiant smile and the intricate details of her bridal look, from her jewelry to the flowers in her hair.
A collage that tells a story of intimacy and joy. It combines a close, loving moment between the couple with a beautiful solo portrait of the bride.
A film strip-style collage showing the many beautiful expressions of a bride on her wedding day. Each frame captures a different nuance of her happiness and anticipation.
Playful and full of laughter. This candid portrait captures the fun side of a couple's relationship on their wedding day, with the bride leaning happily on her groom.
About Marathi Wedding Traditions
When I shoot a Maharashtrian wedding, I focus entirely on the sanctity of the rituals. I keep my presence minimal, using natural light and quiet movements to document moments like the Antarpat or the Halad Chadavne without turning the ceremony into a staged photoshoot.
Documenting the Culture
For me, a Maharashtrian wedding is not just an event; it is a collection of meaningful traditions that deserve to be documented with respect. Whether it is the vibrant colors of a Nauvari saree, the texture of a pheta, or the specific rituals during the Kanyadaan, I pay attention to the details that make your wedding uniquely Maharashtrian.
My Approach
I believe the best photos happen when you forget I am there. I do not ask for stiff poses. Instead, I wait for the candid laughter between the bride and groom during the wedding rituals or the emotional look on a parent's face. My goal is to capture the genuine chemistry and the cultural beauty of the day without interfering with the flow of the ceremony.
What I Focus On
- The Rituals: Documenting the sanctity of Pheras, Mangalashtaka, and other core ceremonies with a focus on emotion rather than just the event.
- The Details: Close-ups of the bridal jewelry, the intricate henna, and the traditional wedding attire that reflects your family's heritage.
- The Atmosphere: Using natural light to capture the warmth of the mandap and the connection between families as they come together.
I am happy to travel to locations across Mumbai, Pune, and beyond to ensure your traditions are captured exactly as you remember them.
