About The Art of the Pangat
A proper Pangat is not just about the food; it is about the placement. In our tradition, the banana leaf is always placed vertically. We guide you on where every item goes, with condiments and appetizers on the left (davi baju) and the main course on the right (ujawi baju). This attention to sequence is what turns a meal into a true Sovlyacha Jevan.
When you book a Pangat with us, you are not just getting a meal, but a cultural experience. We serve a 100% vegetarian spread of 12 to 18 items, featuring classics like Masoor Chi Aamti, Puran Poli, and Ukadiche Modak. We believe in the traditional practice of eating on banana leaves, which many believe adds nutrients and polyphenols to your food.
We offer two distinct ways to host this:
-
Full-Service Catering: We manage everything for your event. Our team arrives, sets up the seating, and our uniformed staff performs the traditional 'Vadhpi' service, moving in rows to serve guests. Whether it is a Munj, Graha Pravesh, or a large wedding, we handle the logistics so you can focus on your guests.
-
Home Pangat Hampers: If you want to host an intimate gathering, our home delivery kit brings the tradition to your table. You get the banana leaves, the complete 18-dish menu, and a printed manual explaining the cultural etiquette of where to place every item. It is a simple, no-stress way to celebrate a festival or family get-together with the same authenticity as a banquet hall event.
We operate across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area and are always ready to travel for events. If you have a last-minute guest spike or a specific menu request, just let us know. We have managed events ranging from small home pujas to high-profile gatherings, and we know how to keep the service smooth and respectful.
