Traditional Sweets with a Modern Twist for Your Festivities
Festivals are better with a little bit of innovation. I take the traditional sweets we all grew up with—like modaks—and give them a gourmet, fusion twist that feels special.
As we bid adieu to Bappa, here are some of the chocolate Ganesha murtis I made this year. Each one was handcrafted from moulding chocolate with a heart full of love and gratitude.

About this collection
These aren't your typical store-bought sweets. Whether it’s a Centre-Filled Chocolate Modak Tart or a fusion cheesecake, everything is made in my small kitchen using fresh, real ingredients. I don't use machinery, just my own hands, which means every box is packed with actual effort rather than mass-produced shortcuts.
I started The Baking Gurl because I wanted to make sweets that bridge the gap between tradition and modern cravings. Why choose between a classic modak and a rich chocolate dessert when you can have both?
My Approach to Festive Sweets
My festive menu focuses on three things: bold fusion flavors, 100% eggless quality, and gifting convenience.
- Fusion First: I experiment with classics. Think Mafrook & Hazelnut modaks or Tarts filled with rich chocolate ganache. It’s about taking the flavors people already love and presenting them in a new, exciting way.
- Quality Ingredients: I don't use oil mixes or synthetic bases. I use real butter, high-percentage chocolate, and seasonal ingredients. Because these are made fresh in my Mumbai kitchen, you won't find any long-shelf-life preservatives here.
- Gifting Made Easy: Whether you need a small box of 6 modaks for a family pooja or large hampers for corporate gifting, I handle the presentation. Each box comes with ribbons and tags, ready to be gifted the moment it hits your doorstep.
I deliver across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area and can ship many of my dry sweets, cookies, and hampers across India. If you have a specific dietary need—like gluten-free or refined-sugar-free options—just let me know. I do my best to make sure everyone gets to celebrate with something sweet.
The Baking Gurl
I'm Niyati. I swapped my 9-5 for the kitchen, and now I pour that energy into making festivals a little sweeter. Everything here—from the fusion modaks to our seasonal hampers—is 100% eggless and made by me.
