Our Story and Creative Drama Programs
I started Theatre with Simran in 2004 with a single dream: to tell stories with children. Today, we provide a space where kids find their voice, from playful storytelling sessions for toddlers to full-scale stage productions for teens.
Let's look at the Ramayana through Hanuman's eyes. Announcing our Dussehra workshop, a story drama special.
A throwback to our Janmashtami workshop, a celebration of festivals through story and drama.
Our programs are designed to cater to kids of different ages and interests, from immersive storytelling for 3-year-olds to devising original scripts for older kids.
Explore, Create, Express. A visual overview of our programs and the journey we take children on.
Exploring new ideas, creating something unique, and expressing it to the world is a fulfilling journey. It's all about embracing creativity.
How it all started. On a February afternoon in 2004, I drew a picture of myself at my happiest: telling stories to children. I am now living that dream.
About Our Story & Program Details
I don't run standard acting classes where kids just memorise lines. Whether your child is 3 or 15, we start by meeting them where they are. If you are unsure which stage fits your child, reach out and we can chat about whether they need the play-based storytelling of our Little Explorers sessions or are ready for the intensity of our 12-week Advanced Playmaking Production.
My approach is simple: connect, not correct. When we start a workshop, my goal isn't to create perfect actors, but to create a safe space where children can explore, argue, agree, and solve problems together. This is where confidence actually grows.
Our Creative Journey
We break our workshops down into age-specific needs:
- Little Explorers (Ages 2-6): These sessions are purely for building imagination through stories, puppets, and creative drama. We focus on social skills and comfort in a group setting.
- Young Creators (Ages 7-15): This is where kids dive deeper. We move from improvising scenes to writing original scripts. Whether they are adapting a classic tale or creating something new, they learn to take ownership of their characters and the stage.
The Production Process
For those ready for the Advanced Playmaking course, the experience mimics a real theatre company. We move through script analysis, blocking, and technical theatre basics, culminating in a public performance with professional costume and makeup support. This isn't just a recital. It is a full lifecycle project where children learn what it takes to bring an idea to life.
Where We Work
We operate across various locations in Delhi, including Model Town, Pitampura, and Shalimar Bagh, collaborating with schools and early learning centres like Sensory Steps and The Popsicles. My team and I are constantly rotating our workshop locations to make these opportunities accessible to as many families as possible. If you want to understand how your child might react to a new environment, we can discuss which of our centre locations would be the best fit for their personality.
Theatre with Simran
I am Simran, and I run these workshops because I believe children are natural improvisers. My team and I focus on building a safe space where kids can experiment, fail, and succeed without the pressure of being perfect.
