Discover the power of shared movement. Our Acro and Partner Yoga sessions at The Ashtanga Institute focus on building trust, improving communication, and deepening your practice through teamwork.

Students work together to create a flowing sequence of Ustrasana (Camel Pose). Partner yoga enhances flexibility and creates a beautiful visual harmony.

Acro yoga is a practice of trust, communication, and strength. I guide students through these partner poses, helping them build a strong connection and achieve poses they never thought possible.

A student acts as the base while another balances in a downward dog variation. This Acro Yoga pose requires core strength and stability from both partners.

With my guidance, two students work together in a supported plank pose. This builds strength in the flyer and stability in the base, fostering teamwork.

I demonstrate the base position in Acro Yoga, supporting a student in a graceful plank pose. Safety and proper technique are my top priorities in these sessions.

Two students demonstrate a partner stretch, where one helps the other achieve a deeper forward bend. This is a great way to increase flexibility with assistance.

A fun Acro Yoga sequence performed by three students. This shows how we incorporate creative and collaborative elements into our classes.

Teamwork makes the dream work. Here, three students collaborate to create a complex and beautiful Acro Yoga formation, showcasing incredible balance and strength.

A partner-assisted stretch for Dhanurasana (Bow Pose). The partner provides gentle support to help deepen the backbend and open the shoulders safely.

Two students perform a synchronized Acro Yoga flow. This practice is not just about physical poses but also about moving in harmony with another person.

About Acro & Partner Yoga: Trust & Teamwork

In these sessions, we use partner support to help you move deeper into poses than you might manage alone. You will learn how to safely base and fly, with a strong emphasis on proper alignment and core stability so you stay injury-free while having fun.

Why Partner Yoga?

Many students find it difficult to push their limits when practicing alone. In our Acro and Partner Yoga classes, having a partner acts as both a stabilizer and a guide. Whether it is a supported backbend or a complex balance, the physical presence of a partner allows you to explore variations that build confidence and body awareness.

The Practice at The Ashtanga Institute

We focus on the foundations of trust and communication. You do not need to be an athlete to start. We teach you how to properly support a partner (the base) and how to maintain control while being supported (the flyer). We incorporate:

  • Safe Alignment: Techniques to ensure you are supporting weight correctly without straining joints.
  • Core Engagement: Learning to use your center to balance yourself and your partner.
  • Mutual Stretching: Using a partner's assistance to reach a deeper range of motion safely.

Our sessions in Airoli take place in an AC hall with laminate wooden flooring and mirrors, providing a safe, comfortable space to learn. You will be practicing under PhD-level guidance, ensuring that even as we focus on the fun and creative aspects of Acro, your safety and anatomical health remain the top priority. We keep the atmosphere light, supportive, and community-focused.

I started The Ashtanga Institute because I wanted yoga to be something we live, not just perform. Whether we are doing advanced partner poses or therapeutic stretching, my goal is to guide you into a stronger, more connected version of yourself.
