About Discovering Indian & Folk Art

Our Indian art module isn't just about looking at history books. We break down the narrative elements in Jamini Roy’s bold folk-style paintings or the intricate storytelling in Madhvi Parekh’s work. You learn by doing, using oil pastels, collage, and printmaking to interpret these classics. By the end of a session, you walk away with a piece that isn't a copy, but your own unique perspective on these master artists.

How We Approach Indian & Folk Art

Art history becomes a living practice when you recreate the process, not just the result. In our studio, we strip away the intimidation factor often associated with traditional art. Whether you are a parent looking for a creative outlet for your child or an adult seeking a technical challenge, we meet you where you are.

What You Will Explore

  • Modernist Masters: We study the heavy lines of Jamini Roy, the textured, fantastical worlds of A. Ramachandran, and the layered depth in Devyani Krishna’s work.
  • Technique Development: It is more than just painting. We use mixed media, collage, and printmaking to capture the textures and moods of Indian folk art.
  • Portfolio Building: For our teen and adult students, these modules are excellent for developing a diverse portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of Indian aesthetics and composition.

The Studio Experience

We operate out of our dedicated studio in Nirvana, Sector 50, Gurugram. This is an industrial-chic space, not a home tuition setup. You get access to professional-grade supplies, from stretched canvases and printmaking inks to quality paper and brushes. Because we limit our class sizes to 6-10 students, you get individual guidance on your strokes and composition.

We provide everything—all you need to bring is a bit of curiosity and a willingness to get some paint on your hands. If you have been hesitant about starting, know that our instructors focus on style development rather than rigid adherence to a curriculum. You learn the rules of the masters so you can eventually break them.
