About Pottery & Ceramics Workshops

Why Pottery Here Feels Different

There’s something special about turning a lump of clay into something unique with your own hands. At our studio, I see people of all ages leave their screens behind and get lost in the real, messy joy of creating. My workshops aren’t just for artists - they’re for anyone who wants to play with clay, chill out, or try something new.

Workshops for All Ages

  • Grown-ups get a break from routine with our hand-building pottery classes. You might make a chip and dip platter or a trinket tray. Sometimes we even do sip and ceramics events, so you can relax with a drink while you work.
  • For kids, I run pottery for kids camps tailored by age. Younger ones (4-7) dive into playful projects, older kids (8-16) try more advanced stuff like ceramic art palettes or animal pen holders. Multi-day camps are a hit in summer.

What to Expect: The Process

  • No potter’s wheel stress. I teach simple ways to shape clay by hand, like pinch pots and slab building.
  • You’ll add textures, patterns, maybe try sgraffito (scratching designs in clay - super satisfying).
  • When you’re done, I handle the technical bits: glazing and firing your piece so you can pick it up later, properly finished.

What’s Included

All the good stuff: stoneware clay, tools, glazes, kiln firing (twice for durability), and step-by-step help from me or one of our artists. Adults sometimes get snacks too. Just bring your curiosity.

My Story

We built The Art Room because we wanted a space that felt like, well, pure creative chaos! No boring copy-paste art here. Watching kids light up when they hear about Picasso, or adults get hooked on pottery – that’s the real magic. We love the messy hands, the wild ideas, and seeing folks like Nandini go from shy doodler to solo exhibitor. For us, it’s all about celebrating the messy, joyful journey of making stuff.
