I see Mumbai in layers. My collages are messy, honest love letters to the city—blending textures, architecture, and everyday moments into a single, chaotic frame.

A sliding collage I call 'Door Diaries'. I see doors and windows as punctuation in the city's story, and this piece layers those moments to show the faces and facades that hide in plain sight.

A collage that brings art history to the menu. By layering a polaroid of a street sculpture over a cafe meal, I connect the city's culture with its culinary scene in a single frame.

This collage captures the soft chaos of a Bombay street. A cat eating, florists at work, and a beautiful arched doorway all come together to tell a story of a typical afternoon.

A collage showing the layers of Bombay's streets. The mix of heritage architecture, a classic kaali-peeli taxi, and a cyclist creates a dynamic composition that reflects the city's constant motion.

Holding a memory in hand. This collage uses a polaroid to frame a moment, creating a story within a story and blending the tangible with the digital.

My 'Love Letters to Bombay' collage series. This piece combines a self-portrait with architectural details and my camera, summarizing my relationship with the city as a creator.

A collage dedicated to the quiet moments at Flora Fountain. The pigeons, the statues, and the vintage street lamps are layered to create a peaceful, almost timeless scene.

If Bombay were a movie, this would be its opening credits. A fast-paced stop-motion collage of textures, flavors, and moods, capturing the city's energy one frame at a time.

A digital scrapbook page from my morning rituals. This video uses collage and animation to turn a simple cup of coffee into a dramatic, chaotic, and creative moment.

Torn pages from my art journal. This collage documents a day in Bandra, mixing scenes from an art gallery with coffee, cats, and the charming lanes of Pali Hill.

About Maximalist Core: Digital Collages

My collage process goes beyond digital editing. It is about finding the right punctuations in the street—a cat sitting on a heritage wall, the exact shade of a local taxi, or the torn edge of a vintage ticket stub. I build these pieces using a mix of original photography, found textures, and hand-lettered type to make sure your brand story feels like a lived-in part of the city rather than a polished, disconnected advertisement.

What is Maximalist Core?

For me, this style is about embracing the clutter. In a world of minimalist aesthetics, I find beauty in the 'too much.' My digital scrapbooking style brings together seemingly unrelated elements—typography, architectural portraits, and street-side textures—to create a visual narrative that forces the eye to wander.

How I Build a Story

  • The Raw Material: Everything starts with a walk. Whether I am at Flora Fountain or navigating the lanes of Pali Hill, I collect textures and moments. These aren't staged shoots. They are captured on the fly, keeping the grit and the grain.
  • The Layering: Back in my workspace, I treat the screen like a physical art journal. I use torn paper effects, neon scribbles, and vintage stamps to frame the product or the subject. The goal is to blend your brand into the fabric of the street so it feels natural.
  • The Human Touch: I don't believe in robotic perfection. If there is a stray cat in the frame or the light hits a wall a little unevenly, I keep it. That is the soul of the work.

A Collaborative Process

I treat every project as a conversation between your brand and the city. If you need a collage that speaks to the nostalgia of an old Bombay cafe or the energy of a new product launch, we will start by discussing the mood. Do we want it to feel like a gritty zine, a colourful scrapbook, or a quiet, poetic reflection? Once we pin down the vibe, I handle the composition, ensuring the hierarchy of images pulls the viewer in, one detail at a time.

I am Ruchit. I think Mumbai’s chaos taught me more than any architecture school ever could. I spend my days dodging autos and hunting for the golden hour light to turn into digital scrapbooks.
