Visual Notes & Creative Experiments
These are the unscripted moments—the quiet experiments, visual collages, and random scraps of life I’ve collected while wandering through Mumbai.
Recent atmospheres, past and present. A collage pairing the ancient stone of a stepwell at sunset with modern, handcrafted wooden boxes from a street market.
A collage of textures and time. The rough, rocky terrain of a hill is juxtaposed with a smooth, intricately carved antique pendant held in my hand.
A collage of street finds. Carved wooden fish and tiny drums from a market stall are paired with the simple, yellow facade of a building, creating a playful composition.
A multi-frame video that feels like a secret garden in my mind. I love reusing and repackaging clips to bring out a completely different meaning with each edit.
A photo from my 2024 scroll. This image pairs the tranquility of a lily pond with a fresh strawberry and feta salad, contrasting nature and cuisine.
A snapshot from my 2024 photo scroll. A perfect cup of latte art is a small, beautiful moment that makes any day better.
A moment of relaxation from my photo scroll. Bare feet on a picnic blanket with a laptop bag nearby captures the essence of modern work-life balance.
About Additional Work
These frames are more than just single captures, they are visual puzzles where I piece together patterns from the daily chaos of Mumbai. I often revisit old clips and photos, layering them with new textures to create something entirely different from what was initially shot. It is how I train my eye, treating every street corner or quiet coffee break as raw material for a larger story.
The Art of the Scrapbook
Think of this cluster as my digital sketchbook. While my commercial work involves precise storytelling for brands, these shots are where I push those boundaries. I treat my camera roll like a physical scrapbook, combining static photography with movement, text, and urban textures to find the 'maximalism core' in the mundane.
Why I Experiment
Most of these captures are unplanned. I might be walking through South Bombay, notice the way light hits a specific architectural facade, and decide to pair it with a coffee cup I held ten minutes later. By remixing these files—repurposing footage or layering a street shot over an old digital collage—I can completely change the mood of a scene. This practice allows me to experiment with:
- Layering: Combining high-res product photos with rough paper textures or neon typography.
- Atmosphere: Using warm or high-contrast grading to turn a simple alleyway into a cinematic frame.
- Visual Storytelling: Testing new ways to blend English and Hinglish text within a visual composition.
Whether it is capturing the quiet tranquility of a lily pond or the restless energy of a street market, this is my laboratory. It is how I keep my eye sharp for commercial projects, ensuring that even the most branded content feels lived-in, real, and distinctly Bombay.
