Surreal Photo Illustrations to Reimagine Your Memories

I love blending reality with a bit of magic. Whether it is a sunset in Goa or a selfie with your pet, I add a layer of whimsical, hand-drawn illustration to your favorite photos.

I turned a Goa sunset into a juicy slice of orange. This is a fun photo illustration where I combine my travel photography with digital art.

A mirror selfie with a surprise guest. I doodled this funky pink flamingo right onto the photo to create a surreal, playful moment.

What if a red panda crashed a South Indian wedding? I had fun imagining this little guy swinging from the temple bells in this photo illustration.

Another scene from my red panda wedding series. Here, the curious creature is peeking over traditional bowls of flowers.

My dog transformed into a magical deer. I love adding whimsical doodles like these antlers and flowers to photos of my pets.

About this collection

When I start on a photo, I don't use AI filters. I sit with my iPad, open Procreate, and manually draw each element—whether it is adding antlers to your pet or a giant orange to a horizon. It is a slow, deliberate process, but it ensures the final image feels truly personal, not like something a computer generated in seconds.

For me, illustration isn't just about editing, it is about storytelling. When you see a red panda peeking over temple bells or a mirror selfie with a flamingo, you are seeing a slice of my imagination layered onto a real moment. I work primarily in Procreate, treating every photo as a blank canvas waiting for a little bit of 'extra.' Whether you have a travel photo that needs a surreal twist, a pet portrait that needs a fantasy edge, or a special memory that deserves to be reimagined, I approach it with the same manual, hand-drawn effort I put into my canvas paintings.

How it works

You send me the photo, and we chat about the vibe you want. Maybe you want to add surreal anatomy, botanical elements, or just some playful doodles. Because I don't use AI or automated filters, I take the time to study your photo, sketch the additions, and color-match them perfectly. It is a slow process, but it means you get a piece of art that remains authentic to you. Once the digital file is ready, you can keep it for your socials, print it for your wall, or even use it as a unique gift. If you have an idea that seems a little out there, honestly, that is exactly what I love to work on.

I'm Rachita, and I’m just an artist obsessed with making reality a bit more magical. I don't believe in quick-fix AI generators; I believe in the slow, thoughtful work of drawing by hand, layer by layer, to turn your everyday photos into art that actually feels like you.
