Content creation is about finding stories in the everyday. These are candid captures of the human heart of the city, from quiet conversations on doorsteps to the shared energy of a festival.

A fading corner that's seasoned by stories. This shot of a small kirana store, with its weathered wooden cabinet and hanging snacks, captures the timeless charm of neighborhood life.

A collage of textures and moments. A bright pink saree, the steps of a temple, and a small shop come together to tell a story of faith, color, and commerce on the street.

I call these 'chatterbox corners'. This candid shot of neighbors catching up on the steps of their home is a perfect slice of life, capturing the community spirit of the city.

Finding beauty in ruins. A self-portrait in front of a cluttered old shop, celebrating the aesthetic of places that are full of character and stories.

A tale of two. This video is a collection of pairs I spotted in the everyday, from two coconuts on a bicycle to two brothers by the sea. It’s a reminder that two’s not a crowd, it’s a vibe.

A self-portrait capturing the mood of a monsoon night in Bombay. The city lights, the sea breeze, and the smile all tell a story of finding joy in the rain.

A rainy night seen from inside a kaali-peeli taxi. The reflection of the traffic lights on the wet streets creates a dreamy, cinematic frame of the city.

A lone figure with an umbrella walking towards a bus on a rainy Bombay night. This shot captures the poetic melancholy and resilience of the city during the monsoon.

A self-portrait during a kaali-peeli ride at night. The shadows and the ambient light create a moody, introspective moment, capturing the feeling of moving through the city after dark.

A life diary in a reel. This video is a collection of footprints, comforting food, inspiring art, and the people who colored the frame, all stitched together with a favorite song.

About Slice of Life: People & Moments

I do not believe in staged poses because the most honest stories happen when people forget the camera is there. When you hire me for a slice of life shoot, I follow your lead, letting the scene unfold naturally. My goal is to capture those fleeting, unscripted reactions and messy, beautiful details that define your specific event or project.

My approach to candid photography is rooted in my architectural training, where I learned to look at space and light differently. I treat every person and every interaction as a structure—full of history, texture, and hidden narratives.

Why My Style is Different

When capturing people and moments, I lean into what I call 'maximalism core.' I am not looking for the cleanest background or the most polished studio lighting. I am looking for the grit, the golden hour glow, the way a person leans against a wall, and the chaos that makes a scene feel alive.

My Process

  • Mobile-First Authenticity: I shoot primarily on flagship mobile devices. This allows me to move quickly, get closer to the action, and blend into the environment without the intimidation factor of a heavy DSLR setup.
  • Observational Storytelling: I don't direct scenes. I observe. Whether it is a family gathering in a suburban home, a bustling market, or an intimate café conversation, I wait for the moment that feels real.
  • The Human Element: I focus on the small things: the touch of a hand, a laugh caught mid-sentence, or the weary expression of a commuter on a train. These details tell a bigger story about life in Mumbai than any posed portrait ever could.

What You Get

My work is for those who want their memories to feel like a living, breathing diary. If you are looking for stiff, high-fashion editorials, I might not be the right fit. But if you want to capture the soulful, messy, and vibrant reality of your life or brand, I would love to help you tell that story.

I am Ruchit, and for me, the camera is just a tool to write messy love letters to the city. I am an architect by training, but Mumbai’s chaos taught me everything I know about finding poetry in the mundane. I don't just take pictures; I frame the poetry of daily life.
