Tennis Training in Mumbai: Master Your Game
Tennis is more than just swinging a racket—it is about grit, fitness, and having the right mindset. Get a glimpse of how we train at Tennace Academy to build power, precision, and confidence on the court.
This is what commitment looks like. We focus on building a powerful and technically sound game from the ground up, whether it's perfecting a backhand lunge or rallying under the lights.
My coaching goes beyond technique; it's about changing your mindset. This simple exercise reveals how we often limit our own effort. I'm here to push you past those self-imposed limits.
Don't just take my word for it. Hear directly from our players, from young athletes to adult members, about their experience and improvement at the academy. Their progress is the reason we do what we do.
Want to get that solid 'phatka' on your serve? This is a drill I use to teach players how to generate effortless power by focusing on the kinetic chain: shoulder, elbow, and wrist. It’s about mechanics, not just muscle.
For adult players, fitness is the single biggest key to improvement. I explain why tennis-specific conditioning is non-negotiable for taking your game to the next level, helping you move better and prevent injuries.
Rain doesn't stop play. It just changes the training ground. We have a system to quickly dry the courts, but if the weather persists, we move indoors for crucial fitness and conditioning work. The hustle never stops.
Hard work pays off. Here are the champions and runners-up from one of our recent open singles tournaments. We provide the platform for you to test your skills and compete.
Tennis is a game of strategy. In this drill, we work on a common tactical play: pulling your opponent wide with a short cross-court shot and then attacking the open court. We even add a drop shot challenge to sharpen your touch.
About Featured
Forget the idea that you play tennis to get fit; you need to be fit to play tennis. We do not just feed balls and watch you run—we focus on the kinetic chain, from your hips to that perfect 'phatka' on your serve. If you are joining our sessions, expect to work hard on your footwork and your mentality, because real improvement happens when you are willing to push past your own limits.
How We Approach Tennis
Most people think tennis is entirely about the hand-eye coordination required to hit the ball. In reality, it is 80 percent legs and 20 percent technique. At Tennace Academy, our coaching philosophy focuses on removing the 'stiff' habits that hold back recreational players. We break down the biomechanics of every stroke, ensuring that your body works as a unit rather than just relying on arm strength.
Why Tennis Fitness Matters
You cannot expect to maintain consistent shot quality if you are exhausted after three rallies. Our sessions integrate tennis-specific conditioning, including ladder drills and resistance training, to ensure your physical capacity matches your ambition. Whether you are aiming to win internal tournaments or simply want to unwind with a rally, the cardio component is non-negotiable for real progress.
Our Training Locations
We operate across two key locations in Mumbai to keep your training consistent, regardless of the weather:
- Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana, Santacruz: Our primary hub for evening intensive batches and private technical sessions.
- Don Bosco High School, Matunga: Dedicated space for group training and skill development.
We have a strict monsoon policy. If the outdoor courts are wet, we move indoors for dedicated fitness and coordination drills so your training schedule never suffers.
Getting Started
We categorize our training into specific formats to match your goal:
- Weekday Intensive: Best for consistent, high-energy improvement.
- Weekend Social: Focused on doubles positioning and consistent rallying.
- Private 1-on-1: High-volume feeding for deep technical correction.
We provide the plan and the feedback; you bring the effort.
