Inside the Dojo: Karate Training & Techniques
Step onto the mats at AKFA, where we turn discipline into strength. Whether you are perfecting your stance or training for full-contact sparring, every session is built to push your limits.
Punch, play, and power up. Our dojo is equipped for all types of training, from agility drills with cones to powerful high kicks on the punching bag.
One spin, one strike. Here I demonstrate the power and technique of a spinning hook kick. Mastering advanced moves like this requires balance, speed, and precision.
That moment you finally nail a new move. With a little assistance and a lot of practice, this student learns how to perform a kick up, a great exercise for agility and core strength.
A glimpse into our sparring sessions. Students gear up with head guards and gloves to practice their fighting skills in a safe and controlled environment.
Our dojo is always loaded with energy. This video shows a mix of everything we do, from a young girl doing splits to get her gear on, to intense sparring drills between students.
We love a good challenge. Students take on the spinning kick challenge, trying to increase the height and difficulty with each level. It's a fun way to test their skills and push each other.
At AKFA, we are always moving. Punching, kicking, jumping, throwing, and sweating. This is the energy you can expect in every class.
Being a coach and an athlete at the same time is difficult, but the passion drives me. This video shows the dual role of training my students and pushing my own limits on the punching bag.
The two bottles kick challenge. This requires incredible precision and control to knock off the top bottle without disturbing the bottom one.
Rule number one: never trust anyone. A lighthearted moment in the dojo where a student learns a valuable lesson during a drill.
About Inside the Dojo: Training & Techniques
Our dojo is built for action, not comfort. We use 25mm puzzle mats and wall-mounted fans because, at the end of the day, you’re here to sweat, learn your stances, and master the basics of self-defense. If you’re ready to trade excuses for consistent training, this is the floor where we start.
Our Training Curriculum
We believe in building a solid foundation before moving to advanced fighting. Our classes focus on the WKF basics (Kihon) and precise forms (Kata). It’s about the grind—repeating movements until they are muscle memory. Once your technique is sharp, we move into drilling, pad work, and controlled sparring to test your speed and reaction.
The Real Atmosphere
This isn't a high-end, air-conditioned studio. It's a training ground. It’s loud, it’s intense, and it’s honest. From kids learning the focus required for self-defense to adults at 65 rediscovering their strength, everyone follows the same principle: Adi mar! (Hit it!).
More Than Just Karate
We combine traditional martial arts with functional strength and cardio. Whether you are here for competitive Sport Karate or simply to learn self-defense as a necessity, our academy provides a safe space for women, children, and men to grow. We don't just teach you how to punch; we teach you the discipline to keep showing up on the days you don't feel like it.
