Master the discipline of Shotokan karate and the intensity of kickboxing. From fundamental stances to competition-ready sparring, here is how we build technique from the ground up.

Leading by example is key. Here, I am demonstrating the precision and power behind advanced kicking techniques like the Ura Mawashi Geri and Yoko Geri on the heavy bag. Proper form is the foundation of real power.

Every champion starts with the basics. Here I am working one-on-one with a young student on his kickboxing combinations, focusing on power and technique using the punching bag. Personal attention helps build a strong foundation.

Kumite practice in session. A young student in full gear practices his Ura Mawashi Geri (hook kick) while I guide him, ensuring he develops proper form and control for sparring.

A quick look at a kickboxing drill on the heavy bag. We focus on powerful combinations and continuous movement to build stamina and striking power for our adult kickboxing classes.

A student practicing the Ura Mawashi Geri, a spinning hook kick. This drill helps develop balance, speed, and precision, which are essential for advanced karate techniques.

Students practicing their kumite stances and movement. Controlled sparring drills like this are a regular part of our training to prepare students for competition.

Safety is paramount. This video demonstrates the correct way to wrap your hands before any boxing or kickboxing session to protect the knuckles and support the wrist.

About this collection

Don't expect to jump straight into fighting. We spend weeks on the fundamentals—stance correction, block mechanics, and repetitive movement—because that is where real power comes from. If you are not willing to put in the time to perfect your Kihon (basics), you are not ready for Kumite (sparring).

At Revolution Martial Arts, we treat every session like a building block. Whether you are learning your first block or prepping for a national-level competition, the process remains the same.

The Three Pillars

We break down training into three core components:

  • Kihon (Basics): This is the foundation. We drill stances like Zenkutsu Dachi and blocks like Soto Uke or Gedan Barai until they are instinct. If your stance is weak, your power is non-existent. We fix this first.
  • Kata (Forms): This is where you learn precision and flow. We teach choreographed sequences, like Heian Nidan, to help you understand movement, timing, and balance.
  • Kumite (Sparring): This is the test. We practice controlled point-sparring to ensure you can apply what you have learned under pressure. Safety is key, so we use full gear and focus on form over force in the early stages.

Kickboxing & Conditioning

Our kickboxing sessions are designed for stamina. We focus on boxing punches—jabs, crosses, and hooks—and kicks like the roundhouse or Teep. We use heavy bags to develop striking power, but we also emphasize the fitness side. Expect high-intensity circuits that build the cardio you need to keep fighting when you are tired.

Why This Matters

My philosophy is that this training is not for the faint-hearted. You will sweat, you will get tired, and you will have to correct your mistakes repeatedly. But that is how you develop the discipline to handle yourself, whether you are in the dojo or dealing with life's challenges. We do not just build fighters; we build character.

I started Revolution Martial Arts here in Bhatkal to build warriors, inside and outside the dojo. I do not care for corporate polish; I care about discipline, hard work, and seeing my students qualify for the Nationals.
