Welcome to Lumen House, a 2,500 sqft residence designed to be a quiet, light-filled oasis. We combined minimalist luxury with our signature hidden storage to create a home that feels open, calm, and personal.

The entrance to Lumen House sets a warm, inviting tone with fluted wood panels and a polished marble floor. The passageway is designed to create a sense of transition, leading the eye towards the bright, open-plan living area.

From the entrance corridor, a glimpse into the living room reveals a bright and welcoming space. We used a mix of natural materials and curated plants, like the bonsai, to bring life and character to the home from the very first step.

The living and dining areas of Lumen House are unified by a 12-foot ceiling and warm wood paneling, creating an expansive feel. We used pops of teal in the ottoman and artwork to add a cool contrast to the neutral, light-filled space.

This video walkthrough captures the seamless flow between the living, dining, and balcony spaces in Lumen House. Our design focuses on creating an open, airy environment that maximizes natural light and offers a peaceful escape from the city.

The living room features a stunning wood ceiling with concealed lighting, embodying quiet luxury. A custom-designed double coffee table in black concrete anchors the space, while a teal bench adds a vibrant yet sophisticated accent.

Natural light floods the living room, highlighting the contrast between the soft, neutral furnishings and the bold, organic shapes of the black concrete coffee tables. The entire composition is designed to feel both relaxing and refined.

A seamless blend of comfort and elegance defines this living room. The star of the space is our custom "Forge" TV unit, finished in bronze metallic glass, which provides sophisticated storage without overpowering the room's serene aesthetic.

About this collection

Notice the curved wall in the dining area? That is not just a partition. We engineered it as a full-height, steel-reinforced storage unit that sits flush with the wall. It allows you to keep all your dining accessories tucked away completely out of sight, maintaining that clean, minimalist look without sacrificing daily functionality.

Lumen House is a primary example of our core philosophy at Tank Design: creating homes that function as personal sanctuaries. For this 4 BHK residence in Mumbai, our challenge was to balance 2,500 square feet of space while adhering to a strict minimalist aesthetic. We relied on a warm neutral palette, layering natural materials like wood, marble, and concrete to ensure the space felt grounded rather than sterile.

The 'Forge' TV unit is a standout piece we fabricated in-house for the living area. Finished in bronze metallic glass, it provides deep storage capabilities while appearing as a sophisticated, sculptural element in the room. We avoided heavy wall units, preferring this floating approach to keep the visual lines unbroken.

Lighting and art were central to our plan. By installing magnetic tracks and concealed LED strips, we provided flexible illumination that adapts to the mood. The teal diptych artwork in the dining area adds a necessary punch of color, breaking the monotony of the neutral backdrop.

We view the balcony as an extension of the living space. By using oversized planters and mid-century modern furniture, we created an urban retreat that encourages residents to pause and disconnect from the Mumbai city traffic.

Common Questions about our process:

  • How do you handle storage in minimalist designs? We avoid cluttered shelves. Everything, from kitchen appliances to dining accessories, is integrated into the architecture through hidden cabinetry that blends into the wall.
  • How do you approach smaller spaces or rooms? We use furniture zoning rather than building permanent walls. The use of swivel armchairs and low-profile coffee tables helps maintain an open, fluid movement throughout the home.
