Dry-Land & Fitness Training for Swimmers
True swimming performance starts on land. We combine in-pool technique with sand-pit strength training to build the explosive stamina and grit that every athlete needs.
Our Aquathlon event in action. We combine running and swimming to build endurance and test our athletes' versatility. It's about teamwork, determination, and fun.
Strength, balance, and fun. We believe in keeping kids active and healthy, whether it's in the pool or on the wrestling akhara. This kind of cross-training builds coordination and overall fitness.
About Building Athletes: Dry-Land & Fitness
We don’t just train in the water; we build strength in the sand. Our sand-pit training is inspired by traditional Akhara-style workouts, designed to build the ankle stability and explosive leg power you need for a faster push-off at the wall. It is hard work, but this specific type of resistance training is what separates a recreational swimmer from a competitive one.
Why Dry-Land Training Matters
Swimming is often thought of as an isolated water sport, but a powerful swimmer is a well-rounded athlete. If you are training to shave seconds off your personal best, relying solely on pool hours isn't enough. Our dry-land sessions are designed to complement our water-based drills by improving your core stability, range of motion, and explosive strength.
What We Do in Training
Our fitness routine is consistent, rain or shine. Because we operate year-round at the Eicher School, Faridabad, we maintain a strict schedule:
- Sand-Pit Sessions: These are designed to mimic the resistance you face in the water while forcing you to stabilize your ankles and knees—crucial for preventing injuries.
- Bodyweight Conditioning: We focus on functional movements, including 20-minute endurance runs and core-heavy exercises that mimic the body position required for strong freestyle and butterfly strokes.
- Flexibility & Recovery: Every session includes mandatory pre-swim dynamic stretching and post-swim static stretching to keep muscles loose and ready for the next day's grind.
Coaching Philosophy
I believe in the 'no shortcuts' approach. Whether you are prepping for the Khelo India games or just looking to get fitter, my team ensures you have the physical foundation to succeed. We use the same methodology for our elite squads as we do for beginners, simply scaled for your goals. If you are here to build real endurance and are ready to put in the effort on the track as well as the lane, you will fit right into our family.
