Our Journey: Making Singing Accessible to Everyone
We believe that if you can speak, you can sing. At Swarmaanas, we focus on emotion, breathing, and the simple joy of music rather than rigid perfection.
A little about my background. I am the daughter of playback singer Smt. Uttara Kelkar and have been mentored by music director Shri. Ashok Patki. My training in music, dance, and counseling all come together in my teaching.
This shares the philosophy of Swarmaanas. We believe music is a divine gift for spreading happiness, and we focus on enjoying music rather than just its technical details.
A short video introducing me as the founder and mentor of Swarmaanas. For over 21 years, I have held the belief that "Anybody Can Sing!" and have mentored thousands of students from age 3 to 80.
A brief introduction to Swarmaanas. We are a preferred destination for music lovers of all ages and skill levels, and we have now expanded with online batches to reach students globally.

Here are all the services we offer. From online and offline group classes to personal singing sessions, weekend workshops, and music therapy, we have something for everyone.
About About Swarmaanas and Our Offerings
When you join our sessions, we do not start with scales or rigid drills that make you self-conscious. Instead, we begin with simple breathing and meditation to calm the mind, followed by songs that you actually enjoy listening to. My focus is on 'bhaav' (emotion)—teaching you how to express yourself comfortably, regardless of whether your pitch is perfect or if you are just starting your musical journey.
Swarmaanas was founded in 2002 with a simple conviction: music is a divine gift meant to spread happiness. Over the past 21 years, I have trained thousands of students ranging from 3-year-olds to adults in their 80s, proving that singing is for everyone.
Our Approach to Expressive Singing
Unlike traditional music schools that prioritize technical perfection, my approach centers on vocal modulation, breathing techniques, and building confidence. Whether you are interested in Light Music, Bollywood karaoke, ghazals, or bhajans, my goal is to help you connect with your audience and sing with open eyes and an open heart.
Classes in Dadar and Online
We operate out of our studio in Dadar, Mumbai, where we offer a supportive choir-like atmosphere. For those who cannot visit us, we have expanded our reach globally with online singing sessions.
- For Children: We have specific batches like the 'Dhaiwat Batch' (ages 8-14) which focuses on stage grooming, mic technique, and performance confidence. For younger kids (ages 3-8), our sessions use action songs and storytelling to make learning pure joy.
- For Adults: If you have always wanted to sing but felt shy or told your voice isn't 'good enough,' our beginner classes are designed for you. We focus on music as therapy—a way to de-stress and find happiness.
Why Music Therapy Matters
Many of my students come to me not to become professional playback singers, but to find relief from daily stress. My background as a counselor allows me to integrate therapeutic elements into our teaching, helping you find joy in every note you hit. Gaana aaye ya na aaye, gaana chaahiye!
Swarmaanas
I am Manasi, and I founded Swarmaanas because I truly believe singing is for everyone, not just the experts. Growing up, I was often compared to my mother, the great singer Uttara Kelkar, but I found my own path in expressive, emotional singing—and that is exactly what I share with every student who walks through my studio doors.
