Strong muscles mean nothing if you can't use them on the pitch. We build movement efficiency, reaction time, and raw speed to ensure you perform at your best, whether you're batting or swinging a club.

This is a 10-second on, 10-second off high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session. These short bursts of maximum effort followed by brief recovery are perfect for building explosive power, speed, and endurance in a time-efficient way.

To boost running speed, we focus on acceleration mechanics. Drills like A-skips and high knees improve technique, while short sprints build the ability to get to top speed quickly, which is vital for running between the wickets or chasing a ball.

Consistency is a superpower. Here, athletes perform plyometric drills like pogos and broad jumps on the field. This type of training improves the stretch-shortening cycle, making them more explosive and reactive.

Flying high with hurdle jumps. This plyometric drill is excellent for developing vertical power and coordination. We use it to improve a bowler's jump and an athlete's overall explosiveness.

Athletes at work. This clip shows a group of athletes performing acceleration sprints on the field. The focus is on the first few steps, which are critical for gaining an advantage in any sport.

Prepare to perform. This video connects explosive gym work, like vertical jumps, with on-field skills like bowling. The ability to jump high is directly related to the potential to produce force against the ground.

Fueling speed, reaction, and strength. Cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar combines heavy back squats with plyometric hurdle jumps. This contrast training method is highly effective for converting strength into explosive power.

This clip shows an athlete performing lateral hurdle hops. This drill is fantastic for developing side-to-side quickness and agility, which is essential for fielding and reacting to plays on the field.

Rise and conquer. An athlete performs a kettlebell swing followed by a broad jump. This combination develops explosive hip power from the swing and horizontal force production from the jump, key for acceleration.

Running drills are fundamental for speed development. This video shows athletes working on their running form and mechanics, which is the foundation for becoming a faster and more efficient runner.

About Explosive Power, Speed & Agility

We don't just lift heavy to look good; we train to transfer that strength onto the field. My method uses contrast training—pairing a heavy compound lift like a back squat with an immediate plyometric drill like a hurdle jump—to force your central nervous system to fire faster. It is the simple difference between being strong in the gym and actually being dangerous on the pitch.

How We Build Speed

Real speed isn't just about running harder. It is about mechanics, force production, and how quickly you can move from a standstill. In our sessions, we strip away the fluff and focus on:

  • Acceleration Mechanics: We use A-skips, high knees, and explosive sprint starts to fix your running technique, giving you those critical extra yards.
  • Contrast Training: This is the core of our explosive power work. We combine heavy barbell movements with high-impact plyometrics like broad jumps and box jumps to train your muscles to produce maximum force instantly.
  • Lateral Agility: For cricketers and field athletes, moving sideways is just as important as running straight. We integrate lateral hurdle hops and reactive drills to ensure you can shift direction without losing power.

The Science of Performance

I use a periodized approach. During the off-season, we push for maximum volume and hypertrophy. Once the season hits, we back off the heavy fatigue and focus on maintenance, speed, and injury-proofing. My goal is to keep you fresh, not fried. We don't just guess; we track performance markers and refine your movement patterns, whether you need more power for your golf swing or faster reaction times behind the stumps. This is about building a robust athlete, not just a weightlifter.
