Every stitch tells a story. From delicate zardozi to shimmering pearls, I focus on the tiny details that bring your bridal outfit to life. Here is the precision that goes into my custom work.

A flat lay showcasing the details of a custom saree border and matching hip belt. The design features embroidered elephant motifs inside decorative medallions, finished with small bead tassels.

About A Closer Look: The Art of Embroidery

The secret to a perfect bridal blouse isn't just the embroidery; it's how the inner structure holds it all together. When I work on custom pieces, I use double-lining—cotton for comfort against your skin and crepe or satin to ensure the heavy zardozi doesn't pull or sag. You get the visual drama of the design without sacrificing the comfort needed for a long ceremony.

How We Approach Handwork

When we talk about handwork, it goes beyond just adding beads. My approach is rooted in traditional South Indian techniques like Maggam and Aari work. Whether it is a Kanchipuram saree blouse or a heavy bridal lehenga, the goal is to balance the weight of the embellishments with the fabric.

  • Zardozi & Beadwork: I use high-sheen Zari threads, antique gold beads, and semi-precious stones. The placement is intentional—we map out the motif, whether it's a traditional peacock, Gajalakshmi, or floral buttis, to ensure it sits perfectly on your neckline or sleeve.
  • The Finishing Touches: Every blouse is finished with handmade latkans that match your embroidery theme. I also pay close attention to the inside seams; everything is overlocked to prevent the embroidery threads from irritating your skin.

Customization & Consultation

Because I work with clients all over India, I have streamlined the process to be as clear as possible. We start with a sketching session where we finalize the cut—be it princess-cut or three-dart padding for a structured, boutique fit.

If you have a specific fabric in mind, like raw silk or velvet, I can assist in sourcing or advise on how it will pair with your existing saree. We also handle color-blocking requests for Langa Voni sets to create that perfect contrast between your skirt and Voni. If you are detail-oriented, we will get along great—I love the technical process of tweaking a neckline until it fits exactly how you want it.
