Whether it’s a magazine cover or a brand lookbook, styling is about telling a story that stays with the viewer. I translate creative briefs into visual narratives that feel authentic, powerful, and striking.

The final cover for Social Ketchup magazine, featuring Sakshi Sindwani. This black and white shot captures the powerful, minimalist aesthetic we aimed for, making a bold statement.

For the 'Ek By Ekta' campaign, I styled this scene to feel like a relaxed and stylish Sunday gathering. The coordinated color palette of the kurtas creates a harmonious and visually pleasing image.

About Fashion & Editorial Campaigns

Editorial styling is not just about picking pretty clothes. It is a puzzle of textures, lighting, and movement. For the Social Ketchup cover, we did not just choose a suit; we played with shadows and silhouettes to capture that specific mood of modern power. When we work together, we build a mood board first to ensure the vision—from the fabric choice to the on-set draping—is perfectly aligned with your brand identity before we even touch a rack.

My Approach to Editorial Campaigns

I treat every project as a fresh canvas. Styling for a magazine cover like Social Ketchup or a lifestyle brand like Ek By Ekta requires different energy, but the core process remains the same. It starts with the story.

1. Concept & Moodboarding Before we look at a single garment, we need to agree on the visual direction. I create digital style guides that outline the palette, silhouette, and 'vibe' we are aiming for. This ensures the production team, photographer, and stylist are all speaking the same language.

2. The Sourcing Hunt I love the mix of high and low. I source from designer archives, street markets, and high-street boutiques. For the Ek By Ekta campaigns, the goal was to make ethnic wear feel practical yet celebratory. We focused on coordinated color palettes that looked natural and chic in a cafe setting.

3. On-Set Execution This is where the magic happens. On shoot day, I am hands-on. I handle the wardrobe management, steaming, and lint-rolling to ensure the garment is camera-ready.

  • For Stills: We focus on draping, using clamps and pins to ensure the outfit fits the model’s frame perfectly from every angle.
  • For Video: I monitor the monitor station. If a tuck is loose or an accessory is catching the light wrongly, I am on set to fix it immediately.

Common Questions

  • How involved are you in pre-production? I prefer being involved from the script or brief stage. Whether it is a brand lookbook or a complex editorial, early involvement ensures we have the right backup sizes and non-reflective fabrics for the shoot environment.

  • Do you handle team logistics? Yes. My role includes coordinating with the photographer, hair and makeup artists, and the production house to keep the workflow smooth. For larger shoots, I bring in my assistant to manage the racks and continuity.

  • What is your experience with celebrity styling? I have styled celebrities like Gurleen Pannu for high-profile events. The approach here is about balancing personality with the event's theme, keeping the look approachable yet polished.
