Fashion Styling Portfolio: Student Showcase & Mentorship Results
I believe in passing the torch. This is a look at a complete fashion portfolio created from scratch by one of my students, Shikha Rangra, during her training with the School of Styling.

About Student Showcase: The Next Generation of Stylists
A successful test shoot is about more than just picking pretty clothes. For this project, Shikha handled the end to end execution, from developing the concept and moodboarding to sourcing pieces and managing the on set logistics. Seeing a student transform a raw idea into a cohesive visual story is exactly what my styling mentorship focuses on, teaching you how to think like a professional stylist from day one.
When I mentor, I always tell my students, 'Styling is not just about clothes, it is about the emotion.' Fashion styling is a craft that requires a mix of creative vision and solid, practical planning. In this shoot, Shikha had to nail every detail, from finding the right location to ensuring the hair and makeup aligned with the overall mood.

Your portfolio is your professional calling card. Whether you want to work with brands, celebrities, or pursue personal styling, potential clients need to see how you think. It is not about how many photos you have, but the quality of the narrative you build in each shoot.
My Teaching Process
At the School of Styling, we do not just talk theory. We get our hands dirty. Here is how we break it down:
- Conceptualization: We start by finding your voice. 'Hum sabki wardrobe mein neutral colors hote hain' (We all have neutral colors in our wardrobes), but how do you make them stand out? We teach you to layer, accessorize, and create depth.
- Sourcing: You learn how to source on a budget and how to find unique pieces that define a character.
- On-Set Discipline: Knowing how to steam a garment, use fashion tape, and manage continuity on set is what separates a hobbyist from a professional.
