Creating a Soulful Dining Experience

Designing Ishtaa was a journey of finding the balance between authentic roots and modern hospitality. We wanted to move away from typical restaurant layouts that feel cold or overly engineered. Instead, we aimed for a space that feels lived-in and honest.

Why the facade matters

In F&B design, the storefront is your handshake. For Ishtaa, we used a local brick-and-mortar approach combined with clean, bold lines. The brick lattice is not just for looks; it filters sunlight during the day and glows from within at night, creating an inviting, soft light that signals that something special is happening inside.

Our approach to F&B design

• Human-Centric Flow: We prioritize staff movement and guest comfort so the service feels invisible and seamless.
• Lighting Layers: We use warm, textured lighting to highlight food and create a relaxed mood, avoiding harsh overhead glare.
• Material Integrity: We lean into natural finishes like brick, wood, and lime plaster. These materials age beautifully, which is vital for high-traffic restaurant spaces.
