About Hospitality Interior Design
Why We Design Spaces With 'Rūh' (Soul)
I see every project as a search for its true soul. For me, hospitality interior design is more than making things look fancy - it's about building places people actually want to linger in, whether that's a cozy corner or a lively lounge. If your guests remember the vibe long after they've left, I know we've done something right.
Our Process: The Real Stuff
- I get obsessed with the details. Sometimes it's chai-fueled all-nighters, sometimes it’s those 3am site visits where you notice things nobody else does.
- My process is about finding the right flow, mixing intimate zones with open spaces, and making sure the place feels exciting but not overwhelming.
- Materials matter a lot - I work with warm woods, earthy terracotta, and natural stone, so your place feels inviting, not sterile. This isn't about perfection, it’s about character.
Nature & Light Are My Jam
Bringing the outdoors inside is something I truly believe in. If there’s existing trees or natural elements, I’ll find a way to make them the heroes of the space. I use warm lighting for hospitality spaces to set moods and highlight features without making everything too dramatic.
What I've Done (And What I Love Doing)
- I’ve designed restaurants with indoor-outdoor restaurant interiors, lobbies that feel like living rooms, VIP lounges with a cozy, intimate lounge design, and cafe seating that’s actually comfortable.
- My favorite projects mix custom seating solutions for cafes with quirky details and clever zones.
Why It Matters
Winning the IIID BRC Antarya Regional Award 2024 for hospitality interiors made all those sleepless nights feel worth it. I’m always up for new challenges if you want a space that’s got a real heartbeat.

My Story
Hey, we’re Kavya and Shruthy, Studio Ruh. For us, rūh is soul. That’s what we try to pour into every project. Not just about pretty walls or fancy sofas. It’s about the *feel* – the vibe that makes you want to stay. Clients become friends, sometimes family. We’ve pulled all-nighters, lots of chai, maggi, and somehow it all comes together. Winning ‘Young Practice of the Year’? Still feels unreal. Grateful, humbled, and so ready for more magic.
