This living room from our 'Home of Stories' project in Mumbai captures our love for warm minimalism. We designed the space around the clients' collection of art and artifacts, using natural wood and a neutral lime-wash palette to let their personal stories take center stage.
For our first villa project in Dubai, we created a light and airy living space perfect for a young family. The design uses a breathable palette of soft textiles, natural woods, and cane to create an expansive feel that is both functional and calming in the Dubai heat.
We believe good design should extend to every member of the family, including pets. In this guest bedroom, we integrated a custom 'cat wall' with shelves, ramps, and a hammock, creating a playful vertical landscape for our clients' feline friends.
Craftsmanship is at the core of our work. This detail shows the custom teak wood wardrobe and joinery from a Mumbai apartment, where we used precise techniques like mitre and half-lap joints to ensure every bespoke piece is both beautiful and built to last.
A home office should be both functional and inspiring. For this study in Dubai, we used a bold bottle green, a color significant to our clients, paired with warm oak wood to create a space that feels grounding, elegant, and conducive to focus.
This is the exterior of our studio extension in Mumbai, built using a terracotta brick jali. This feature filters the harsh sun to create soft, changing light patterns, showcasing our commitment to using indigenous, locally sourced materials in a modern context.

At STaND, we approach every project as a piece of your personal narrative. We’re Sid and Nik, and our design philosophy centres on warm minimalism, a balance where raw, indigenous materials like teak, Kota stone, and lime-wash paint provide comfort without clutter.
When we redesign spaces, we look for ways to make them breathe. In our recent Versova project, we replaced fragmented, walled-off rooms with an open-plan layout to invite in natural light and sea views. That project taught us how effectively custom joinery, like cantilevered dining tables or concealed Murphy beds, can maximize functionality in tight urban settings.
