Carnatic Vocal Classes in Bangalore
Whether you are a dancer looking to sharpen your rhythm or a beginner eager to find your sruthi, I invite you to join our musical community at SSCD. Let’s learn together, one note at a time.
This is your invitation to begin a new musical journey with me. My Carnatic vocal classes are designed for everyone, whether you are a complete beginner or a dancer looking to deepen your understanding of sruthi and laya. I offer both offline classes at my HSR Layout studio and online sessions.
Let the music be your muse. This video contains all the information you need to join our classes, including contact details and links for our various branches across Bangalore for both online and offline learning.
About Join Our Classes
We believe in steady, consistent learning, which is why our classes operate on a bi-monthly billing structure. Whether you choose our offline sessions at our HSR Layout studio or our live Zoom batches, you will have 8 sessions per month with a batch size of 8-12 students. We prioritize fundamental clarity—specifically Sruthi and Laya—before moving forward, ensuring you build a solid foundation rather than just rushing through songs.
Our Approach to Music
Music is the breath of dance, and I see both as deeply connected. My goal is to help you become a complete artist, whether you are a dancer needing to refine your performance or someone seeking music for your own joy. We focus on two main pillars:
- Sruthi (Pitch): Finding and holding your note accurately. This is the base for every melody.
- Laya (Rhythm): Understanding the pulse and timing that gives Carnatic music its life.
Learning Formats
We offer flexibility to suit your schedule, but we maintain the same level of attention to detail in both formats:
- Offline at HSR Layout: Experience the energy of learning in a traditional air-conditioned studio with floor seating. This batch is held on weekends.
- Live Online Sessions: For those who cannot travel, we hold interactive sessions via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday. These are not pre-recorded; I provide real-time feedback on your pitch and notation.
What to Expect
There are no shortcuts here. Carnatic music is a saadhana (spiritual practice), and it requires patience. My curriculum covers everything from fundamental Sarali Varisais to Alankarams. If you are a beginner, we start from scratch. If you are a dancer, we work on strengthening your musical foundation to change how you perform on stage.
We provide digital study materials for online students and use Electronic Shruti Boxes in the studio to aid your practice. If you are ready to commit to this journey, come walk in—you are welcome here.
