About Carnatic Vocal Lessons
We do not just teach theory; we focus on stage readiness. In our Carnatic vocal sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of sruti, laya, and sahitya, but you will also participate in our monthly open-mic nights. This gives you a space to apply your learning in a real performance setting, ensuring you build both your technique and your confidence before an audience.
Our Structured Approach
Carnatic music is a discipline of precision. Our curriculum is built to foster this, moving systematically from the basics of Sarali Varisai and Geethams to complex Varnams and Kritis. We offer training in multiple languages including Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil, ensuring that the Sahitya (lyrics) is delivered with the correct diction and emotion.
The Learning Path
We cater to all skill levels through two main paths:
- Group Sessions: Best for building rhythm with peers and learning ensemble techniques. Classes focus on sruti alignment and traditional Talam (rhythm) cycles.
- Private Coaching: Ideal if you are preparing for graded exams or need to work on specific nuances like vibrato or gamakas (ornamentation).
Performance and Certification
What sets our training apart is the emphasis on performance. A student who learns a piece in class is encouraged to present it at our monthly open-mic nights. This transforms the classroom experience into a practical skill. For those pursuing a professional path, we provide full support for internationally recognized music grade exams, guiding you through the syllabus, mock tests, and performance requirements. Whether your goal is to master a specific Raagam or to gain the confidence to sing on stage, we provide the path.
