Academy Life & Community at Shivaji Park Gymkhana

For me, Shivaji Park Gymkhana is not just a location, it is a second home. I have spent 35 years here, and the most important thing I have learned is that technique is only half the battle. If you do not have the right people around you, you cannot grow.

That is why I started the All India Association for coaches. In sports like tennis, there is often little security for players or coaches, so we decided to build our own safety net. When you see our academy life, you are seeing that culture in action. We hold these tournaments and internal matches to give everyone a platform. It does not matter if you are winning or losing initially, that first step into the competition is what we celebrate.

Our coaching is tough, yes. We push hard with cross-fit, endurance, and on-court drills. But between the intense training, you will find a group of people who are genuinely invested in your success. We have created a space where juniors, pros, and veterans mix, share knowledge, and learn from each other.
