Meet Anish: The Philosophy Behind Soul Chef
I believe that when you hire a caterer, you are inviting a partner into your celebration. In these videos, I share my process for designing menus, choosing service styles, and managing dietary needs to ensure your food is truly prepared from the heart.
A fun quiz with me, the founder! I make some tough choices between different types of catering we do, from weddings to corporate events.
Here I explain our specialized approach to Jain menus, ensuring delicious and authentic food for all your guests.
I discuss how we handle destination catering, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience no matter the location.
Confused about service styles? I break down when to choose circulating starters versus a buffet to best suit the format of your event.
About Meet Our Founder
My goal in sharing these insights is simple: to help you make informed choices that fit your event. Whether you are balancing dietary preferences like Jain requirements, deciding between circulating appetizers or buffets, or planning a destination gathering, I have provided these answers so you can understand my process and approach to menu design before we start planning.
How I Approach Your Menu
When we work together, I want you to feel confident that the food reflects your values. I often get asked how I handle specific dietary requests. For example, when creating a Jain menu, I don't just exclude certain ingredients. I focus on creating a complete, vibrant experience using alternatives like feta cheese cigars, sun-dried tomato bruschetta, or fresh spinach quiche. This ensures that guests with specific dietary needs enjoy the same high quality as everyone else.
Choosing Your Service Style
Choosing between circulating starters and a stationary buffet often confuses clients. If you are hosting a formal board meeting or a training session with limited time, I recommend placing two or three high-quality starters on the buffet for efficiency. For a cocktail dinner or a relaxed house party, we shift the focus to a personalized experience where servers circulate with six to seven appetizers, allowing guests to mingle without interruption.
Catering Beyond the City
Many clients ask if I can travel for events. My team and I are fully equipped to handle destination catering. For a recent family gathering in Alibag, we sent a dedicated team with our own preparation setup to manage the event onsite. We handle the logistics, so you do not have to worry about the food quality or service consistency, whether you are in Mumbai or outside the city limits.
