Early Echoes Preschool Music Classes in Bandra
Our Montessori-inspired Early Echoes sessions are designed for children aged 3 to 6, focusing on active listening, rhythm, and the joy of musical play.
Here is a glimpse into one of our 'Early Echoes' sessions. I love making learning interactive, so we play games where everyone can participate. In this video, I'm teaching the bass clef, and you can see the children are so excited to shout out the answer. It’s this kind of joyful participation that makes music education so special for young learners.
Understanding rhythm is a core part of music. In this group session, we are discussing time signatures and what "four beats in one bar" really means. The children learn to identify and feel steady beats, a fundamental skill for any young musician.
We often use fun activities to reinforce music theory concepts like identifying patterns and sequences. Here, I'm asking the students to find a repeating musical phrase in a piece of music. This turns learning into a fun scavenger hunt and helps develop their listening skills.
Curiosity is the first step in learning. I captured this moment during a music theory workshop where the children gathered around the piano, eager to see how the notes they learn on paper translate into sound. We encourage this hands-on exploration in our group piano classes.
One-on-one attention is important even in a group setting. Here, one of our young students is getting a chance to practice writing musical notation on the whiteboard. This tactile activity helps solidify her understanding of the concepts we discuss in class.
Learning doesn't always happen at the piano. In this photo, our students are working together on the floor to complete a music vocabulary word search. This activity, designed by one of our teachers, is a great way to learn new terms in a relaxed and collaborative setting.
From the first practice notes to the final bow on stage, we are there to guide our students. This collage shows moments from our recital prep workshops, where we focus on building confidence, refining pieces, and helping each child express their unique personality through music.
About A Day in Our 'Early Echoes' Class
Our sessions move away from standard drills and focus on active exploration. Your child will use sensory scarves, handheld percussion instruments, and global music themes to internalize rhythm through play, all within a small, supportive group led by a certified Montessori instructor.
Music is a language that even the youngest children speak fluently. At Solfège, we believe in nurturing that instinct early. Our 'Early Echoes' module, designed alongside Montessori educator Zoe Alvares, steps away from rigid drills and moves toward intuitive, child-led play.
What to expect in a session:
- Global Exploration: We introduce children to rhythms and melodies from around the world, helping them develop an ear for diverse musical cultures.
- Movement & Tactile Play: From dancing with colorful sensory scarves to using handheld rhythm sticks and shakers, every activity is designed to help children feel the beat in their bodies.
- Social Learning: We emphasize peer interaction, using call-and-response games that build confidence and social skills in a group setting.
Our Bandra West studio offers a warm, home-like environment where children feel safe to be themselves, whether they are naturally quiet observers or high-energy movers. Parents often ask if their child is ready for group music classes. We recommend starting with a single trial session on a Saturday at 10:30 AM. This gives you and your child a chance to experience the environment, meet our instructors, and see how our teaching style resonates with your little one's energy levels. It is the perfect, low-pressure way to see if we are the right fit for your family's musical journey.
