How It All Began
Art ka keeda (my passion for art) bit me early on, repairing torn book pages back home in the village. Copying those old drawings, I realised this is what I love. When I landed in Delhi, life wasn't easy - took up graphic design just to pay bills, but my heart stuck with cartooning.
My Editorial Cartooning Journey
No fancy art school, just pure hustle. Got my break in 1995 with Hindustan’s national cartoon contest. Later, I freelanced for their editorial pages, drawing cartoons reacting to fresh news. Making sense of the world through hand-drawn editorial cartoons is still what I do best.

My Style
Mostly hand-drawn, old-school feel. Strong lines, real expressions - black-and-white or coloured, depends on the mood and message. For me, it’s about creating something that makes people stop, think, or just smile. Sometimes it’s not perfect, but it’s always honest.

Main SKD hoon, Samastipur ke chhote gaon se. Bacchon ki tarah hi, second-hand books se padhte hue, jab illustrations phate milte the, main khud se waise hi drawing bana deta tha. Tabhi se art ka keeda lag gaya. Hindustan Times ke caricature contest mein kaam chuna gaya, Patna exhibition mein display hua - bina kisi guidance ke. Delhi aaya cartoonist banne, struggle toh hai, par art chhoda nahi. Smile lana kaafi hai mere liye.
