Warm Living and Social Dining Spaces

We design living and dining areas as the social heart of your home, focusing on open layouts and cozy nooks. Our designs blend natural teak and rattan with thoughtful details like ceiling rafters to create a warm, contemporary classical feel.

The living room in our 'Malhar' project is designed for connection, featuring a beautiful wood and cane swing that adds a playful, traditional touch. Paired with contemporary seating, it creates a balanced and inviting atmosphere for family and friends.

In our 'Palaash' project, the living area is defined by a custom veneered-rattan TV unit that blends rich materials with artisanal warmth. The tall, dual-access frame serves as both a sculptural element and a functional storage spot for everyday essentials.

The interconnected living, dining, and stairway area in the 'House of Kismish' creates a grand, open feel. We designed this formal living space for conversation, which transitions into a cozy reading nook under the high ceiling, perfect for moments of solitude.

The 'Cover me in Sunshine' living room showcases our modern cottage style. We used graceful arches to shape entryways and a mix of curves and straight lines in the TV unit, while ceiling rafters add character against the muted beige walls.

For the 'Gulmohar' home, we created a linear arrangement for the living and dining areas to maximize the balcony view. A custom crockery unit acts as a subtle divider, while ceiling-to-floor curtains soften the space and enhance its cozy feel.

This wide view of the 'Vasudhalayah' living room highlights the expansive, open layout. The traditional swing, antique pillars, and a bold yellow accent wall come together to create a space that is both grand and deeply personal.

This cozy dining nook from our 'Palaash' project features a custom curved wall with built-in seating. The bold tribal-print upholstery and teak wood table create a unique and intimate space for family meals.

About this collection

When we lay out living and dining spaces, we prioritize the flow of conversation over rigid structure. In projects like 'Gulmohar', we used a custom crockery unit to create a subtle boundary between the dining table and the lounge, allowing the space to feel open while still keeping the dining area intimate. It is about balancing your need for a social host's space with the comfort of a private home, using materials like teak veneer and rattan to keep the tone warm.

Our design approach for social spaces focuses on three pillars: connectivity, light, and comfort. We believe your living room should adapt to you, whether it is a quiet morning reading session in a nook or hosting a large gathering.

The Indo-Modern Aesthetic

We often weave traditional elements into modern layouts. This might be a classic wooden swing in a contemporary living room, as seen in our 'Vasudhalayah' project, or the use of arches to soften rigid architectural lines. These features bring a sense of nostalgia and homeliness to new apartment builds.

Material Choices

For social zones, texture is everything. We gravitate towards natural teak wood, rattan inserts for furniture, and muted, earthy paint palettes. These materials age gracefully and add depth to the room. We also look for ways to introduce features that catch the eye, such as ceiling rafters or statement wall paneling, which help define these large areas without needing to add extra walls.

Functional Zoning

The challenge in many modern Bengaluru apartments is a lack of clear definition between the entrance, living, and dining zones. We solve this through:

  • Furniture Placement: Using consoles or back-to-back seating to create invisible walls.
  • Lighting: Layering cove lighting with statement fixtures above the dining table to anchor the space.
  • Custom Storage: Designing crockery units that are as aesthetic as they are functional, often using fluted glass to add visual interest.

Whether you are starting with a blank canvas or looking to renovate, we work with you for 6-7 months to ensure every corner—from the layout of the TV unit to the placement of your dining chair—feels intentional and personal.
