Sacred and Peaceful Puja Room Designs

Finding space for a quiet, prayerful corner in a modern apartment can be tricky. We design these areas to be serene extensions of your home, blending traditional needs with a light, modern aesthetic.

This serene puja room in our 'Malhar' project was created by reconfiguring a section of the dining room. The space is enclosed with elegant fluted glass panels and wooden shutters, offering a blend of privacy and visual lightness.

About this collection

We often look at the layout of a dining or guest room and see a possibility you might miss. By reconfiguring walls or adding partitions like fluted glass and wooden shutters, we build prayer spaces that feel private without closing off the room completely.

Puja rooms do not need to be heavy, dark, or closed off. In our work, we prioritize light and airflow, treating the prayer space as a breather in your floor plan rather than just a utility cupboard.

In our 'Malhar' project, we did not just add a cabinet; we demolished a section of the dining room wall to carve out a dedicated, breathable alcove. This allows for privacy during daily rituals while keeping the dining area feeling open and connected. We used fluted glass panels and wooden shutters to maintain a visual link between the rooms, ensuring the space feels like part of the home's overall design language.

For the guest bedroom in 'Cover me in Sunshine', we took a different approach. We integrated an arched puja unit directly into the wall paneling. By using matching textures, the unit appears as a planned part of the room structure, rather than an afterthought placed against a wall.

When we plan these spaces, we consider your specific needs. Do you need a shelf for books? Space for brass lamps? A niche for idols? We measure everything so that the joinery fits your items perfectly. We lean into warm, earthy materials—teak wood, cane, and soft finishes—to create a tactile, comforting atmosphere that feels right for the start of your day.
