Selected Architectural Works and Design Narratives
Explore a curated selection of our work, where architecture meets storytelling. From wildlife corridors to urban street furniture, discover how we build spaces that respond to their surroundings, local materials, and the rhythm of daily life.
(Hero Item) The Madam Narangi project is more than a street cart; it is a mobile piece of the public realm. Here, the 'lari' becomes a place for community, conversation, and commerce, demonstrating our belief that thoughtful design can support and dignify daily life.
The Elephant Pavilion in Pollachi is designed to be a quiet observer. The structure sits low, embracing the natural contours of the land and wrapping around an existing tree, ensuring it becomes part of the forest edge rather than an intrusion upon it.
Before we build in the world, we build in our studio. This physical model allows us to study the play of light and shadow within a vaulted space, testing how form shapes experience. It is through this hands-on process that our architectural narratives begin to take shape.
A single cart is a livelihood; a collection of carts becomes a public square. This diagram illustrates the modular potential of the Madam Narangi project, where individual units aggregate to create dynamic, community-scale markets and social spaces.
From within the Elephant Pavilion, the forest is not just a view but an experience. The open design, with its spiraling staircase, creates multiple vantage points for observing the elephant corridor, connecting visitors directly to the life of the habitat.
A glimpse into the collaborative rhythm of our studio. We believe that architecture is a conversation, and every day is an opportunity for our team to learn, create, and grow together, turning shared ideas into tangible spaces.
We were honored to have our co-founder, Surbhi Singhal, recognized at the WADE ASIA ArchiDesign event. Such moments affirm our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and contributing to a wider dialogue on architecture in India.
Our feature in Interiors & Decor magazine, "Shaping Enduring Narratives Through Architecture," captures the essence of our practice. We see every project as a story waiting to be told through material, form, and a deep sensitivity to context.
About Featured
We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all architectural style. Every project here, whether a community pavilion or a modular street cart, starts with listening to the land and the people who use it. We build physical models to test light and movement before we finalize any drawings. If you are looking for design that feels intentional, where every material choice serves a specific purpose, this collection offers a glimpse into how we can translate your vision into a built environment that feels right.
Architecture for us is a conversation. This collection of featured work highlights our core ethos: creating spaces that truly belong to their environment. When we worked on the Madam Narangi street carts in Ahmedabad, the challenge was not just to build a unit, but to create a system that dignified informal commerce. We engineered the folding mechanics and modularity so vendors could reclaim public space with ease. Similarly, in Pollachi, the Elephant Pavilion required us to step back and let the land speak. By using rammed earth and timber, we ensured the structure sat low, respecting the elephant corridor rather than dominating it.
Our process is hands-on. We spend days in the studio building scale models, testing how shadows fall at noon and how wind moves through a space. This rigor ensures that what we build is practical, sustainable, and climate-responsive. We work with materials that have memory, such as local stone, waste wood, and natural earth, because they age beautifully and carry the stories of the place. Whether you are planning a hospitality retreat, a home, or a public realm intervention, our team is here to translate your specific context into an enduring architectural narrative. We invite you to explore these projects not as finished products, but as ongoing stories of land, material, and community.
SIAN Architects
We are Surbhi and Deepanshu. At SIAN Architects, we treat every building like a chat between the land, the stone, and the people who live inside. We are not just designing walls; we are carefully stitching stories into the built form.
