Bharatanatyam Performances & Theatrical Dance
A glimpse into my world of dance—from intimate solo recitals to grand, story-driven productions. My work explores the intersection of classical tradition and modern, narrative storytelling.
This is the art form that is my breath and my being. Every performance is an offering, a story told through rhythm and grace, connecting the past with the present. This moment, captured during a solo recital, embodies the power and poise of classical Bharatanatyam.
A glimpse into my large-scale production, "The Wheel of Choices." This dance drama explores the profound themes of destiny and dharma from the epic Mahabharata, brought to life through intricate choreography and expressive storytelling.
The stage at NCPA Mumbai is sacred ground. Here, I am performing a piece that is very close to my heart. The energy of a live audience and a prestigious stage like this makes every movement feel alive.
This is a clip from my "Mathe Varnam," featuring a special segment called Trikala Jathi, where the dance is performed in three distinct speeds. This piece, with jathis composed by Sri Sivaprasad and choreography by me, is a technical and emotional centerpiece of a Bharatanatyam recital.
A powerful, dramatic moment from "The Wheel of Choices." We use strong visuals and emotive choreography to convey complex narratives, making the epic stories accessible and impactful for everyone in the audience.
Nothing means more to me than when the story connects with the audience. This video captures some heartfelt words from viewers after our performance of "The Wheel of Choices" at the Khajuraho Dance Festival. Their understanding and appreciation is the greatest reward.
A moment of quiet reflection before the storm of the performance. In this close-up portrait, the intricate details of the Bharatanatyam costume, makeup, and the calm expression tell a story of dedication and anticipation.
Taking our stories to the world. This is a short edit from our international tour of "The Wheel of Choices" in Reunion Island, France. It was an absolute joy to collaborate with local artists and share our culture on a global stage.
About Featured
Whether you are looking for a powerful solo recital for a private gathering or a full-scale theatrical production for a corporate event, I handle the creative and technical execution end-to-end. My performances prioritize narrative clarity; I integrate verbal introductions in English and Hindi to deconstruct complex mythologies, ensuring that everyone in the audience—even those new to classical dance—can follow the story.
My work follows a distinct philosophy: dance must be as intelligible as it is beautiful.
Solo Bharatanatyam Recitals
The heart of my classical work is the 'Margam'—a traditional solo journey that combines rhythmic footwork (jathis) and nuanced expressions (abhinaya). These recitals are ideal for intimate settings where you want the raw power of the classical form to take center stage. I provide the full package, including studio-mastered classical audio and professional, authentic Kanjeevaram costumes.
Theatrical Dance Dramas
For larger events and festivals, I specialize in full-scale productions like 'The Wheel of Choices.' These are designed with high production values, utilizing professional lighting, curated soundscapes, and large-ensemble choreography. My troupe of senior dancers joins me to create geometric formations and dynamic visual storytelling that keeps an audience engaged for 60 to 90 minutes.
How I Work
I manage the production from concept to execution. When you book a performance, you are not just getting a dancer; you are getting a complete artistic experience. This includes:
- Concept & Narrative: Pre-show briefings or live introductions to set the context.
- Team Support: For group ensembles, I bring a dedicated team, including a makeup artist to ensure visual uniformity across the troupe.
- Flexibility: I perform regularly across Delhi/NCR and am experienced in touring for national and international festivals.
If you have a theme or a specific idea in mind, I am happy to discuss how we can adapt a traditional piece or create something new that fits the vision of your event.
