About Dance Performances & Productions
Why I Dance
Dance is my way to find shanti (peace), and I hope some of that feeling reaches you too. For me, it’s not just steps or technique—it's about telling stories that touch you, whether you’re watching or dancing with me. My aim is simple: make you feel something real and maybe even make you fall in love with dancing.
What I Offer
- Solo Bharatanatyam recitals for those who want the full power of classical dance—think strong jathis (rhythms) and expressive abhinaya (storytelling).
- Grand productions with a troupe—these are big, bold, and usually tell epic tales, like “The Wheel of Choices” (a Mahabharata-based dance storytelling performance) and “Panna Dhai,” where we’ve even performed in French.
- Performances for all kinds of events: cultural festivals, corporate functions, even private parties if you want a classical vibe.
How I Work
I start with a spark of an idea and build out the whole thing—from concept to costumes. My senior students often join me on stage, which honestly makes me really proud. Collaborating with musicians and dancers, sometimes even across languages, keeps it exciting and challenging.
Where I Dance
I’m based in Delhi but have performed everywhere from temple courtyards to Paris auditoriums—places like NCPA Mumbai and international festivals. No matter where, the stage always feels like home.

My Story
Namaste, we’re Shreyasi Gopinath Dance Academy. Dance is just in our bones, you know? Learning from gurus at Kalakshetra shaped us, and we still feel their blessings. Taking our troupe from Delhi to Khajuraho Dance Festival was unreal, especially with our own dance drama Karna. We love creating experiences—whether it’s a Mallu feast for friends or watching our students light up a stage. Teaching is therapy for us, and seeing students smile is the best part.
