Kids' Fashion Photography: Authentic NYC Street Style
I don't stage kids; I let them own the streets. My NYC-style shoots for brands combine grit, real energy, and precise lighting to make your campaign look like a story, not a catalogue.
For this kids' campaign in NYC, we wanted to capture pure, unscripted fun. This shot of two girls running and laughing on the sidewalk feels genuine and full of energy.
Capturing the spirit of New York for a kids' fashion brand. This shot in the Times Square subway station uses the location's grit and leading lines to create a cool, urban vibe.
A storytelling moment from a kids' campaign. The dappled sunlight and the playful "shush" gesture create a sweet, narrative-driven image that feels both candid and beautifully composed.
A classic NYC moment for a kids' summer campaign. The excitement of buying ice cream from a truck is a relatable story, and the lighting is bright and cheerful to match the mood.
Posing the kids in front of a storefront, this shot captures a mix of personalities. The composition is balanced, and the natural light gives it a fresh, street-style feel.
A young model confidently striding across a New York crosswalk. The NYPD van in the background grounds the image in its urban setting, adding to the cool, city-kid aesthetic.
A candid moment between two friends. My goal here was to capture the genuine connection and laughter, making the campaign feel relatable and heartwarming.
About this collection
When I shoot kids, I don’t rely on long, tiring studio hours. We use a mobile Profoto setup that mimics natural light, allowing us to move fast on location. My goal is to capture the chaotic, unscripted energy of the city while keeping the product front and center. If a kid wants to jump, run, or laugh, we capture that—we don't wait for the "perfect" pose.
Great kids' fashion photography isn't about perfectly combed hair or stiff posing; it's about the attitude. When I bring an NYC street-style aesthetic to your campaign, I'm looking for the moment the product meets the environment. Whether it's a subway station, a classic brownstone doorway, or a bustling crosswalk, the location becomes a character in the shoot.
My Technical Approach
I shoot these campaigns on a Sony Alpha 1, using prime lenses to create that sharp, high-end separation. My setup is portable by design. By using a single Profoto B2 strobe, I can balance the bright, harsh sunlight bouncing off city buildings with the softer light on the kids' faces. This is the difference between a snapshot and a polished brand campaign.
Why This Style Works
- Authenticity sells: Brands today need to stop looking like stock photos. My process captures genuine connection and laughter, which stops the scroll.
- Directing with purpose: I guide the talent through movement. If I need a 'cool' street vibe, I direct the poses to be confident and stride-heavy. If it's a playful look, we go for energy.
- Retouching matters: I handle all high-end retouching myself, so you get finished, print-ready images that maintain skin texture and natural color, not some over-processed mess.
I handle everything from the initial creative direction to the final digital delivery, ensuring the vision we start with on the street is exactly what you see in the final files.
