Featured Dance Performances and Training Classes
Welcome to the world of Shree Riyaaz Dance Academy. Whether you want to master Kathak, explore semiclassical grace, or find your rhythm with Bollywood, I am here to guide you step-by-step.
This is one of my proud students from our online semiclassical dance classes, performing with so much grace. It proves my belief that there is no age to start learning dance; you just need the passion for it.
Here is a glimpse into one of our online group sessions. I focus on teaching step-by-step, counting the beats so everyone can learn at a comfortable pace. We make sure every student, whether in a group or one-on-one, gets personal attention.
This is from our offline Kathak batch for kids in Greater Noida. It's wonderful to see young dancers learning the basics of posture and footwork together in a studio environment.
A little performance of my own to the beautiful song 'Sakal Ban'. I love mixing classical techniques with popular music to create something fresh and expressive in my semiclassical choreography.
It makes me so happy to hear feedback like this from my students. She was hesitant at first, but with patience and detailed instruction, she found her confidence and joy in dancing.
This is a tutorial from one of our certified instructors on Nattadavu, a fundamental step in Bharatnatyam. We break down every element, from the Aramandi posture to the Tripataka mudra, to build a strong foundation.
The sound of ghungroos is the heartbeat of Kathak. Here, I am demonstrating different 'prakar' or variations of Tatkar (footwork) and Hastak (hand movements), which are the core of our training.
Another one of my wonderful online students, Usha ji, performing a piece from our semiclassical class. Seeing my students embrace dance with such dedication is my biggest reward.
About Featured
What you see here is a collection of moments from my classes, from kids in our Greater Noida studio to adults learning online from home. Every student you see started with the same hesitation, thinking they could not do it. But my method is simple: we break down every movement, including complex Kathak footwork or Bharatnatyam mudras, into small, manageable beats so you never feel rushed.
Dance is a feeling, not just a series of steps. My classes are built on the belief that it is never too late to start. Whether you are choosing online lessons via Zoom or joining us offline in Greater Noida or Patna, the goal remains the same: a deep, technical understanding of your chosen style.
How We Learn
We focus on 'baareeki'—the fine details. In our Kathak training, we cover both Lucknow and Raigarh gharana styles, starting with basic posture and evolving into complex tatkar and chakkar. For Bharatnatyam, our curriculum follows the authentic Kalamandalam style. Every session is interactive, allowing for real-time posture correction and feedback, whether you are in the room with me or joining from a different city.
