Our Kathak training goes beyond just learning steps. Whether we are practicing a Tihai in Teen Taal or working on the expressive storytelling of a semi-classical piece, we focus on technical precision in a relaxed, judgment-free environment. You do not need a background in classical dance to join; our instructors meet you exactly where you are, helping you build flow, footwork, and confidence from your very first session.
More Than Just Steps
At Dance Fun, we believe Kathak is a conversation between rhythm and movement. Under the guidance of our expert instructor, Sanjukta Dey, our batches emphasize the technical foundations of the art form—taal, tatkar, and expressions—while ensuring the process remains joyful. We keep our batches small to ensure every student gets personal feedback on their posture and rhythm.
What to Expect in Class
- Technique: We cover the fundamentals, including Teen Taal, complex Tihai sequences, and precise hand movements (mudras).
- Storytelling: Semi-classical routines focus onabhinaya (expression), teaching you how to convey emotion through dance.
