Getting to know the person behind the lens

When I started my journey six years ago, I was a strict perfectionist who wanted every prop perfectly aligned. Working with hundreds of families taught me that the best photos are not the ones where everyone is sitting perfectly still. They are the messy, chaotic, beautiful seconds in between—the tickle fights and the tiny yawns. That is exactly what I look for now when I am behind the lens.

My path to photography was not a straight line. Born and raised in Mumbai, I spent time in Nagpur and Bangalore before work brought me back home. I have spent the last seven years evolving from a photographer who chased the perfect shot to someone who chases the perfect emotion.

My Punjabi genes definitely help when it comes to matching the energy of a toddler or a hyperactive sibling. I love the chaos of a family session. If your pet jumps into the frame, that is not a ruin; that is a highlight. If a toddler decides they are done with posing and wants to run, we run. I treat every shoot like I am part of the family, because for those few hours, I am.

When I am not holding a camera, I am usually binge-watching thriller movies or finding new restaurants in Mumbai. I used to be an extremely fussy eater, so if you are a mom worried about your own child's eating habits, just know that they will turn out just fine.

I believe my job is not just to deliver digital files. It is to give you a memory that makes you smile years down the line. Whether we are in my Andheri West studio with a controlled, themed setup or at your home where your kids are most comfortable, my priority is your experience. I make sure the headbands, wraps, and props we use are soft and safe, and I never rush a baby who needs a moment to settle. Your comfort and your family's happiness are the two things I never compromise on.
