Photography Style and Process

People often ask why I prefer candid photography over rigid, posed shots. The answer is simple. The best moments happen when you stop performing for the camera and start just being yourself.

My process changes depending on where we are. In my Borivali West studio, it’s all about control. I use soft lighting and minimalist backdrops to ensure the focus stays on you, whether it’s a newborn session or a maternity portrait. There is no rush, especially when little ones are involved. We take our time for feeding breaks and mood swings, because that’s what makes a comfortable shoot.

When we go outdoors, it’s a different story. Mumbai offers some incredible spots, from quiet parks to busy streets. I scout these locations not just for the view, but for how the light hits at different times of the day. I want your photos to look cinematic without looking staged.

My approach to gear is just as minimal. I use professional equipment to ensure high quality, but I don’t let it get in the way. My camera is just a tool, and my eyes are focused on the small details: a look between parents, a child’s genuine laugh, or the way the light catches your hair at sunset.
